Fuck Trudeau and Fuck Bill Blaire

I don’t have a licence, am going to get one this winter, a customer teaches the course in town.
I have over the years went to the range numerous times with friends, my brother in law.
Shooting the handguns were the best. I even tried to get my wife into it so I could justify buying a few and doing target practice. But even with ear protection the noise was way too much for her, plus a place we went to the guy helping us was a complete fucking tool and wrecked it completely for her.
I go with my brother in law all the time.

My favourite was the Colt 1911.
I also shoot a 357 magnum a fair bit, with magnum load (I pay him for the ammo) but I find it has too much power and tears up the crease in my thumb.

So I can see why people love handguns. Shooting a rife becomes boring after a while. It’s like a car, you want one that’s completely predictable, or something a bit wild and overpowered?

For the wife's noise issues.. They now make AMAZING full cover ear muffs. They actually allow all sounds to go into your hear until it goes over a specific decibel, then they cut out everything.

If the ear muffs don't work, buy a set of ear muffs AND use foam ear plugs at the same time. I doubt a good set of muffs won't solve her problem though.

Do it, get your rpal! Then buy a pair of Ruger Mark IV hunter 22 pistols. Cheap to shoot, insanely accurate and will last a life time. After you get bored of the 22's, buy a 1911 9mm. More pop, yet still cheap to shoot. Then when that's not enough pop, buy a 357 revolver. I suggest Smith and Wesson. You can shoot 38 special out of a 357 magnum and 38 special is just a bit more pop than 9mm, but also give you the option to shoot 357 if you want more.. Or the other option is buying a 44magnum because you can also shoot 44 special (again very mild).

Handguns are a blast to shoot because it takes WAY more skill to be accurate with a hand gun than a rifle.

Oh I am going to do it. Been sawing I will for years, but never did, but the customer that does the course reminds me every time he’s in, lol. I’ll have to do it out of guilt for him, lol.

My wife will never like it, not her thing, just like my motorcycle, could car less to ride either.
It’s funny we have work and our motivation as a common thing, but there is a lot of stuff we have different interests in.

I’m actually pretty good at accuracy as well. Don’t know why.

Do it... The sooner the better.. I could spend hours plinking with a 22 hand gun.

Is there still a range on Macadoo's lane?

Likely. I will ask the instructor, he’s from town will know what’s up.
I prefer something bigger than 22, I like the recoil, lol.

Went gopher shooting with my uncle previous summer. 22 rifle and scope, I was popping off their heads. My uncle would say I missed, the fly back out the hole, flopping around, I’d say see, in the head.

He’s too competitive, so he gets angry if you are good and wants to quit. I got 15 before I stopped, 100-200 yards, didn’t miss one. Pretty easy.
We went skeet shooting also, no ear protection so the semi auto shot gun sucked because it blow out by your ear, I used a double barrel instead. Only missed the first time then figured out the trick. He pouted once he missed one and quit, lol. It’s sad because he’s like 63 or something.

I enjoy recoil and the big boomers as well, but trust me.. Buy a high quality 22 pistol first..

-22 ammo is like 5 cents a shot.
-My 9mm cheapest ammo if I buy 1000 rounds at a time is 35 cents a shot.
-my 44mag is my favorite hand gun to shoot and its $1 a shot

You don't think its very expensive, but you load that 44 up 5 times and you just shot 25$ in 20 mins. You can burn though 200 rounds of 9mm in an hour EASILY, thats 70-75$.

It can easily cost 100$ an hour in ammo with the bigger rounds. But you can shot your 22 cal 1000 times for 60$.

If you buy a high quality 22, you'll love shooting it. And only need to fire the boomers a bit when you go to the range to get it out of your system.

Ruger Mark IV hunter.. you won't regret it and its about 850$ which is decent for a good quality 22

Great advice, while the first hand gun I bought was a 9mm, my favourite gun overall to shoot is my CZ 452 .22.....that gun is as close to an off the rack competition rifle as you can get and for like a 1/3 the price of an Anschutz......and .22 is affordable to shoot, zero recoil, little noise and out of the right rifle an absolute tack to shoot under 100 yards....that might not sound like much but when you're hitting targets the size of toonies the length of a football field away for pennies on the shot, that's a fun day.....I love shooting.

I have my pal, but not my restricted. Handguns are cool, but I’m not the guy to go to Range and shoot them just for a hobby. If we were allowed to use them for other purposes like on my hip when I’m hunting, then 100% I’d get my handgun license.

I used to have a small artillery of 30 ish guns, but I’ve dialed it back down to 7 now. If a long gun registry ever came in to play, I would not acquire any more guns, and my guns would be laying low. Registering your firearms is the first step in government confiscation, and I’ll go down with a fight before I let our corrupt government get their dirty dick beaters on my rifles. Of course the government taking your rifles is just the first step towards other things that your now defenceless against. Needless to say, I extremely oppose a long gun registry. The fact our firearms laws are changing is a joke, Canada does not have a gun problem at all.

Ppl need to realize the less Rpal owners there are, the less likely we will be allowed to use them outside a range. The less rpal owners, the easier it is for them to keep making the rpal laws more strict.

What's the saying?? something like "I stood by and watched them seize hand guns because I don't have them... I stood by and watched them seize semi auto's beause I don't have them. I stood by and watched them seize scoped rifles because I don't have them. Now they are seizing my shotgun and there's no one left to stand by me";

@animal-inside Kind of close but way off.

Total opposite for me. Hanguns are boring. I have a couple just because the ones I have in particular would probably be impossible to replace due to mods and scarecity. And I'm sure I will get some range time with them again.

Long range rifles are where its at for me. I only shoot .308 as I don't have time to go to a spot where I could make use of a larger calibre. I can hit steel out to 1km with my current rifle and my own reloads. It's so much fun!

A PGW Timberwolf in 338 Lapua is my dream rifle, one day, if pretty boy doesen't totally fuck things up for us.

I do own unbuilt AR recievers. No intention of making them, I just want to help the cause by having more registered.

I did hear somethign along the same lines for firearms, but I can see where they got the idea from based on what you posted.

Unfortunately, there's not many places where I live to shoot past 400yards.. The local range only goes to 250 yard.. I could see rifles being more interesting again if I could have a spot to stretch them out

How stupid can people be? Suing smith and wesson becauce they failed to bring "smart"technology into the handgun so it wasn't operable by anyone but the owner? They said the gun company owed them the smart technology...

How slippery of a slope will this be? So now any instruent that causes a death by someone other than the owner, the victim can now sue the maker if they didn't develope it with smart technology?

I'll add, lawyers are the scum of the earth... Anything for a buck regardless of how right or wrong, guilty or innocent the person is.

Are you a little grumpy? Man, there are quite a few good lawyers out there doing some pretty awesome things for various organizations. One of my Sifu from the '80s spent his career in legal aid and was a legal advisor for a few charities pro bono. There is good everywhere; we hear and see the bad.

I'm actually not grumpy lol.. Honestly, life is good right now.. But losing rights and freedoms is something that makes my blood boil. Especially when its loosing rights and freedoms based on zero truthful facts but the media and politicians twist things around so its just self serving bullshit. It bothers me how uneducated and complacent people are as well to their rights and freedoms. I also hate the atittude "who cares, that doens't affect me" attitude.

Yes I know there's good lawyers. A very very good friend of mine grew up to be a lawyer. His specialty is defending workers against their employers. That's his area of focus and he loves being the iron hand that stands up for the common worker against a big business or corporation.

It's the lawyers that jump on board anythign and everythign to make a buck. So many cases out their that the lawyer is just a terrible excuse for a human. I know they are "just doing their job".. But how the hell can a human sit beside Travis Vader (for example) and try to get him out of jail? The lawyer will rot in hell right beside Travis.

I shouldn't paint them all with the same brush, esepcially because it bothers me when people paint everyone in my field of work with the same brush as well. I was kinda ignorant for doing that myself in that post.

@animal-inside you have a good point, but what rights and freedoms are you losing? You don't have a right to own a gun and not having one is not impinging on your freedoms.
I get how you can be perturbed that something that is happening in the GTA and Quebec may take your privilege of gun ownership away in Alberta. But it's not a right. As far as freedom goes? Use your limited free speech to protest.
Bruce McArthur, Travis Vader and even that pure piece of evil, Benardo, deserve a trial.

I clump rights and freedoms into the same category as being allowed to legally do something and then it being taken away without real cause. I consider it a freedom I once had that I no longer have. I hate when government feels the need to bring in new laws to protect people from themselves. I believe in freedom of choice in many regards. I currently have a right to own a handgun if I do the course, follow the laws etc.. by deffinition it might not be a actual right and more a priviledge, but I think its fucked for the government to say "we are willing to give you the priveledge to own a hand gun".. Thats messed up...

I understand there is serious issues in the GTA in regarding violence and gangs.. But that is NOT an issue that will be affected in any way shape or form by banning any firearm of any kind. The liberal government is using whats happening in the GTA to do what they have ALWAYS wanted to do with firearms. Why are they refusing to see the issues which build the foundation for the violence and gangs? The foundation of these issues is not firearms. If they think (and I don't think this is their train of thought) that banning guns is going to be the most efficient way to curb the GTA issues they aren't very intelligent. What in the hell is taking guns away from legal gun owners who commit no crime going to do to the violence in the GTA? There is no correlation at all. The only people who will hand their guns over or follow the ban are law abiding people, but these are not the people commiting the crimes.

Your right, every deserves a trial.. That is a right in Canada that should never be taken away. When referencing Travis Vader, I should have been more specific. That peice of shit is appealing his convictions AGAIN... And their is a lawyer agreeing to defend him when its beyond any doubt he killed that elderly couple. I understnd within the law he's allowed to appeal, but could you sit next to him and fight to get him out of jail?

There's a very famous lawyer in my area. His speciality was getting people out of drunk driving charges. If you got charges with a DUI and you had the money, he always got you off. He charged a LOT for his services, but he rarely ever lost a case. I have seen families torn to peices to see someone walk out of the court house a free man (or jsut probation) when they injured or killed or tore a family apart with their drinking and driving. He's a very famous lawyer in Alberta, but he passed away a few years ago from ironically a car accident. How he ever did what he did is beyond me.
