You just have to keep using it no matter what. It took me one full week of shit sleeps to get used to it, then I loved it and can't sleep without it now.
If you don't sleep on your back try to train yourself to do so, then you'll sleep much better with a cpap.
I have the nasal mask too and I have it as loose as the straps will allow and stretched out a bit more. The pillows just lightly sit on my face. Humidity set to 1 in winter, no water in tank most of the summer. Hose temp at 20 during the winter, 16 in summer. Auto ramp up with preasure set from 7 to 14.
The real game changer for me was back sleeping and getting a good U shape neck pillow, like the ones people fly with, as it keeps my head locked in line so I don't move as I'm sleeping and accidently pull the mask off or cause a leak. Then I pull enough hose onto my chest to keep it loose on my face and fold the corner of my blanket over the hose so it does not slide off the bed as that will pull the mask and it'll leak.
My CPAP is on the floor under the bed so it can not fall off a side table if the hose is pulled, it is quieter down there, and it pulls in clean fresh air (it won't pump in your farts, no joke!)
These U pillows from The Dollar Store are the best as they have the thickest foam from all the ones I've tried to support my neck and big head
