good article to explain the assclown's disaster to get a seat on the UN

My reasons are exactly as I mentioned above. I simply find the NPD and Cons to be even less appealing than the Liberals

I read that, not saying i didnt. I was wondering if you had to swing me to the Lib party... could you?

Based on the brief points above, I'd say no. I was wondering if there was more.

I don't think any of us could swing each other either way. This is the main reason I don't engage in political debates online. Come at me with anything science related though, and prepare for my onslaught 😁

Fair enough. You and me are on the same page there. We need a new party based on the logic and reasoning of science. SBE party would get my vote if it existed.

I actually fit none of those criteria, nor do any of the folks I know who vote Liberal. Your list feels much more like the NDP's base than the Liberal's.

Hey, I would honestly like to hear how you see things and your reasoning when you say support liberals as lesser of two evils.

Not trying to stir the pot, but I think your age, occupation, living situation etc..

This ones a sharp liberal
He doesn’t like to show his hand

LePsyber and his possie called in the big guns

@Nixter I do support anyone’s rights to have whatever view they want. You don’t seem like the typical Libtard so I think you are cool!

Not to rehash the past for you, but as an exercise can you please give us an elevator pitch of why you do support the liberals? Since you answered no to 3ml's questions above Id say you're more advanced than a typical lib, so what is it about this parties agenda that is appealing?

I always like to hear this rationale from libs as so many times its misguided and they are actually more conservative in their way of thinking than they realize.

My story in a nutshell: the first time I ever voted was Liberal, because my parents did. No questions asked. I remember being in that booth and asking myself "what am I voting for?" When I got home I did some reading... oops, looks like I made a mistake. No big deal as I'm sure my vote is a drop in the bucket, but every drop counts.

I then talked with my parents ... we all vote Conservative and have since that day.

that right fucking there is a HUGE issue... allowing people to fucking vote who have absolutely no skin in the game.. And if you have no skin in the game, you never truly take the side to learn and understand how any fucking party will affect your life..

For good reason, for the longest time you HAD to OWN property to be allowed to vote. I understand the negatives of this (some ppl will never afford or want to own property, the votes swayed by ppl with money etc), but the reason you HAD TO OWN property to vote was so that you had skin in the game to force you to make an educated vote because you had something to loose!!!

Like fuck... 18-25... how many ppl in this age category have ANY invested interested in making an informed vote.. The ONLY thing on their minds when voting is "wow I'm poor and I don't want to be poor AND they vote based on their emotions from watching the media"...
On those two points
"wow I'm poor and I don't want to be poor"- well hate to break it to you, we all started out poor once we left our parents home.. its supposed to be that way... That forces you to decide to work and better yourself to not be poor.. I was DIRT poor ages 18-26.. and it taught me to have goals, build my skills and better myself.. taking this away from people will NOT make society better..

"vote based on emotions from watching media"- use your fucking head.. Media easily pulls on the heart strings often with an end goal in mind that you are not aware off..

Voting age must be raised... The reason voting age was decided at 18 was because that's when it was almost a given you were going to war and fight for your country.. cant' ask ppl to do that and not give them a voting say.

There is a god damn reason the liberals have wanted to LOWER the voting age.. Get more votes from ppl who vote with their heart and don't want to struggle..

Raise the damn voting age because as a whole, our 18-25 year olds are more immature than ever.. they still live on mom and dads tit because they don't want to struggle and better themselves.. they don't think that live should be hard for anyone.. They all want what I got (that I earned), but to them its not fair that its a hard path to get what I have (earned)...

fuck me.. rage is coming out.. I need to leave my comptuer

fyi- this wasn't an attack @mt666tm , its addressing the issue of unifmormed voters and I can see MT66M saw that he made a uninformed vote based on his post and sees why its an issue today

^ You took the ball and ran it perfectly based off my comment there. Nailed it.

At that age with no life expirience or political education I feel I should not have been allowed to vote. Kids are taught nothing, and easily swayed with legal weed and what appears to be free $$. Its beyond irresponsible.

Animal, I agree that voters should ideally be making educated votes, but I believe that should be done via education and not a purely financially motivated system.

I'm going to regret this but here's my main thing. I believe the betterment of society comes from investing in what will create less of a drain on society in the future. I don't see the Cons placing value in pulling the bottom up, so the future drain on society from the bottom will continue or get worse. The DNP want to spend too much placating the bottom and not lifting it up. This drains the top and middle, but without future benefit. I'd be ok with the amount of NDP spending (more even) if it were invested properly in society's future.

Sorry my kids are needing me, but I will reply to your post

Where would the NDP get the money?

More tax
More borrowing
Exactly, but are they going to disproportionately tax even more.
I was actually wondering where Nixter thought they were going to get it from. And I wasn’t setting him up, I was truly curious.

Redistributing current spending and more taxes on higher incomes (myself included). Again, I'd only support this if i thought the spending would be an investment in lowering the social and economic drain on the future. This is why i don't currently support the NDP.

I personally don’t want to be taxed more. Truthfully I would reduce my workload if there wasn’t a benefit. 60 hour work weeks are not uncommon for me, plus this year I’m only getting 1 week of holidays because I cannot take time off work.
I pay more than my fair share, get absolutely no breaks on anything, and deserve what I earn.

But redistributing current spending and removing tax to people under 25,000 a year I’d be on board for.

Or remove income tax completely and have a consumption tax, therefore it will truly be fair.

In terms of how I think we should be doing it, I like the Nordic model as it tends to top every ranking on human development. It's basically democratic socialism, a term which will cause most Cons to gasp and clutch their pearls, but it's hard to argue with the results.
