Just finishing up 'Gamma Bomb', one of his newer programs. It's been 12 weeks of pain and fun so far, I've learn't a lot. Started with one of his newer programs as their super detailed and littered with links to his YouTube throughout the program - which is great for exercise/form check.

Who else uses his programs and any recommendations for the next program I run? Will be taking a few weeks off after the completion of this one as off on holiday but when return will be knuckling down and lean bulking along with finally getting started with first cycle.

I use his methods and alot of his ideas. But I dont pay foe the programs.. I jist make my own based off what I have learned from him. I switch between dc training and mountain dog every 5-6 months

DC comes highly recommended though I've never really looked into the principals. Maybe it's a worth a look.

JM's programs are quite expensive considering they are a 'one size fits all' type deal but if your handy and keep an eye out you can find them for good prices.

Does anyone have any suggestions of workouts/programs to check out? Will be looking at DC and other JM programs after this one.

I watch Mountain Dog's (Meadows') YouTube videos and workouts daily - they're excellent. May look into trying out one of his programs in the future...

I have used some of the workouts I’ve seen in his videos to help with creating some variety in my training.
Honestly though lifting weights really isn’t that hard. I find the biggest thing is to keep excitment in your training so you don’t get in a rut and train half assed.

I really like where he starts with a warm up weight and keeps adding weight until you can’t do 8 reps. This is grass because it forces you to push out of your minds preset weight goal. So let’s say you think you can only do 200 lbs on bench, so normally you would stall out on 10 reps at 200, if you keep adding 5 a side until you hit less than 8 reps, sometimes you are suprized that you coukd get up to 230.

Yes this is a technique I think I'll take into my own programs.. the whole building up to 1 heavy set of 8 is great.

I usually move on to the next exercise once I can’t do 8 anymore. Plus I only use this on the first exercise. Then I do straight sets so 4 of 12 then I usually do some high volume set for my last, so lower weight up to 20 reps

This is generally how JM sets it out in programs. Usually only 1st exercise using this technique. He loves the 8 repetition number though & then super high reps, especially when working shoulders.

I’m doing chest and shoulders. I finished chest doing push-ups on the bench so I got 3 sets of 30 and a bit reps, now side laterals for sets of 20, so I’m doing 30 lb dumbells for 20 right now with a bit of rest/pause

John was my trainer for awhile, his methods are great. I was also a sponsored athlete by true nutrition and DC training was my staple and still is. I love JMs programs and switch it up with DC and Phil Hernon trng. All 3 were coaches of mine and all 3 have very big benefits to utilize. I switch through them all when my body tells me it is time for a switcheroo. Cannot go wrong with mountain dog

Sounds like you’ve had some extensive experience and trained with some top notch guys. Do you train people as well?

Hi Dutch, I have trained with some excellent guys that taught me a ton. I don't train guys. I tried it before and I am not very good at it. I lack patience and empathy. LOL. I got tired of giving advice, then being told someone else said try this instead, yada, yada.lol. So I figured I am not cut out for it. I will however answer any questions I am asked based on my experiences and knowledge. I enjoy doing that and having discussions.
