Hammer Strength Machines

Been using a fair bit of the Hammer Strength machines at the gym lately and really like the motion and resistance of these.

Mostly incline chest and leg extension.

Anyone else a fan or am I a bit of a loser ?

I like them a lot for preventing injuries and getting the job done. I still go back to dumbbells or barbells once in a while just for the feel but normally stick to some of these machines now when I can. Or I'll do a few sets of the free weights and then move on to one of these to finish up.

The only problem is I never know the true weight I'm using due to the physics and leverage that goes on with them plus the weight of the machine or moving parts. That's why I just mention the amount of plates used rather than adding it up. It doesn't really matter to me as long as I get a good workout and get close to or past failure when needed and don't get hurt doing it...

I use the plate loaded ones. Mostly just for back so i can go heavy without the strain on my lower back. I dont care for the pressing movements on them.

Is that really an either/or question? lol

I like them and I really want to like them, a few of them just don't "fit" me , as in the geometry is just off and not comfortable which is a bummer

Yep I love them. Generally use them exclusively on pump days. Heavy days still revolve around DB/BB work.

Great for high rep, failure and drop set stuff.

I like their equipment. Been thinking of getting one of their power racks for home gym in the future. I use one at the gym almost everytime I go

I love them. If my gym had more I would do dc. They are great for that type of program.

I incorporate them in to my training regimen on a regular basis. I switch from machines to barbells to cables to dumbbells each workout.

I use hammer strength in particular for heavy lifts where I can't get a spot or if I want to focus on targeting a specific body part.

Of course being an older guy they're a Godsend in preventing injury.

Some I love and others hate me (a few just don’t work for my body)

I typically use a machine for my first exercise to really be able to push weight and get a good pump. My second exercise is always dumbbell or barbell movement

I was a long time member of a hard core gym here in Calgary. The owner brought in at least six of these stations.Nobody liked them.He basically begged you to use them.I came to like some of the pulling stations, but no pressing motions.

There's a gym in Wetaskiwin AB loaded with plate load hammer strength machines they were awesome.

Now I go to GoodLife and they have a good section of pully system hammer strength machines . Not as good as the plate but still the best machines out there.

I like these machine a lot! Both plate loaded and pulley system. Dumbbells and cables are still my favourite though.

Ive always loved the plate loaded. Both for the heavy and achieving failure aspect of training
