Tik-Tok - I would STRONGLY advise that you get the hell off it if you're on it.

Hey man, I'll make sure to spend every dime first, you know, beat them at their own game šŸ˜‰
Lol, that is what I used to do.
The thrill of spending is not as exciting anymore. I have what I need now.

Don’t worry they help me spend it.

They want you to live forever, they can't tax their rich friends. We, the working class, on the other hand, are the golden goose that produce more tax payers.
The man makes us jump.

The only difference between us versus some other "socialism" countries is that we don't have gangs of guys with clubs to "calm the masses."

Oh how quickly people forgot about Ottawa lol.
Seems to me there was a mass of people getting ā€œcalmedā€ there by guys with clubs lol

Agree to allow them to access your camera? - Yes. Agree to allow them to access your microphone? - Yes. Agree to let them access your files, and photos? - Yes.
If this is a concern for you, then you should cancel your cell phone service immediately and destroy your phone.

Think it through.....
Between Google and Apple, they have roughly 99% of the cell phone market share. I believe it's Microsoft in the #3 position with something like 0.5% of the global market. Just by having a cell phone, your data is already being harvested and sold.
Do Google/Apple have access to your camera? - Yes. Do they have access to your microphone? - Yes. Do they have access to your files and photos? - Yes. Do they have access to your location history, browser history, installed apps, your passwords, even what's typed on your keyboard? - Yes. This is all without even granting permission or even without installing a single app. Shit, Apple even actively scans and categorizes your photos for images of child related crimes and will automatically report them to LE. And that's just what they've told us about..... Who knows what else they're monitoring and reporting.

Just by owning a phone, you've already given 100% of your data away. It's already being sold, and as somebody else has already said it's likely being sold to China as well. You can either accept this and continue on with your life, or as I said if it's a concern that a 3rd party company has access to your information then the ONLY way around it is to destroy your phone and never own another. Deleting Tik Tok will accomplish literally nothing in protecting your privacy.

Actually, I run a VPN on everything and our phones are encrypted with Knox. It's possible that Bell might access some things (they shouldn't be able re> against their own terms of service> but they sure as hell don't access nearly everything. As far as I can tell, everything is going through the VPN but just by pinging a tower as cellphones need to do, I'm losing control of data right there.

And as far as terms for access, I have all of them off as far as company ones presented when our phones were purchased/started. I was given the option to turn off a whole bunch if not all of Bell's access to my information, Google as well, and I did. It sucks as far as not sharing bookmarks and data between my phones and browser, but as you know, I don't trust THE MAN.

My home network of computers are all encrypted both with MS Encryption and TPM and are so locked down as far as vpn/network traffic that I KNOW nobody is doing anything on/off my network because I'm able to watch my packets. Nothing is going to or from my router other than what we send/receive or what needs to ping it's home without being encrypted first.

So sorry, old chum, the man doesn't have me by my short and curly's. ;)

NOTE> If anybody wants to know what some or all of this means or wants help locking their stuff down, DM me, and I'll help you out. I've been doing this stuff for decades now.

I may just do that, I want to learn more about this stuff. It is very interesting.

Those guys after being told 200 times to break it up, the point had been made and it was time to move move MOVE IT ON deserved to be calmed.

Not even going to budge on this one. Those people laughing their drunken asses off as they were seriously damaging people's already damaged by covid livelihoods and the Toronto/Ottawa fuckers thought um...they'd just sit there having booze-soaked cookouts in the middle of essential roads...forever?

Sorry, that's a GREAT time for judicious use of calming.

Like Bagua says, once they have you from one end or the other, everything in between is just being data mined. One of the real tells is when you start getting ads in your browser for stores located in or around where you live.

Right now, I'm getting ads for Irish pubs and Dublin stores because I physically appear like I'm in Ireland. I like to mix it up though so perhaps tomorrow I'll switch to Australia. That's the best part of VPNs. They'll make the world see you from anywhere the provider has servers. (mine has something like 120 different servers, rips a ton of ads out and has zero logging of what I'm doing so Bagua thinks someone from Ireland is trying to hack his dickity pickity. I'm on his computer but all his personal pictures are so small size wise that nothing "stands out".

Mkay, screw not wrinting the book I was going to warn I was about to right, you need some understanding of the TRUTH vs whatever the fuck you think you know.

I was both there for a bit, shaking my head at how much worse it could get and watching damn near every inch of that on TV. Sorry, but there are several reasons why that needed to stop. It was only getting larger and larger as more people emboldened themselves as some sort of Constitutional Cops that were blocking essential services and businesses and creating INSANELY dangerous standoffs. People were putting their KIDS in between the police and using them like human effing shields, and you want to tell me that ONE PIECE of that fiasco was just? That those idiots had a RIGHT to start planning to sit there for six months while people jerry canned in diesel, food and bottles of liquor to people who could have cost lives depending on how they handled THEIR side of things? Those people were fucking insane and had NO RIGHT to block cross-border traffic.

NO. RIGHT. I don't care who the fuck you think you are or what you think you have a right to protest but stopping cross-border traffic and all the rest of the bullshit like playing "nail the cop" with empty beer bottles and shit, but I assure you that you have NO RIGHT to do that so fuck off with the "nyeahhh we were just standing around and stuff and the cops...they attacked us mwaaah! Ohhhh those terrrriiible cops and Justin Trudeau for causing all of this!"

Guess what? All of the government voted on action to remove those people, so every single party was involved with stopping what had gotten out of hand/was only getting worse. Not just the Liberals. So the police were told to legally remove hundreds of people and vehicles and they did. Considering how drunk everyone was and how much they had ratcheted up the situation, it's a fucking miracle that people didn't die. When it comes to what happened at the border and in Toronto/Ottawa, guess what? Somebody had to do something, and they did. It was an unlawful protest that got worse because thousands of more unlawful actions were happening at that protest that needed policing. Want to know what also happened? Ten's of thousands of law-abiding people stood, grinding their teeth because nobody would do anything while they were having THEIR rights and livelihoods dented even more by a bunch of people who elected themselves as Constitutional Cops to block commerce with one big rolling party.

Look, some on this place know I was in law enforcement before. I have no patience for shit like that because it wasn't right. I don't agree with everything I was called to do, but I agree with damn near all of it. I was 150 meters away with my right hand on my gun because the risk had been so ratcheted up when Dudley George was killed in Ipperwash, and I KNOW his death was bullshit. It was wrong however people need to understand that it was understandable because there is no line behind the police. They stop something, or the country devolves into Mexico. Many people like you sit at home, drinking your beers, eating your Cheetos, and you don't know what it's like to have to police bullshit like that, but you get on forums critiquing something you have absolutely NO CLUE about. People need to understand that there is A LOT of information that they are not being made privy to when it involves times when police are needed.

An example with regards to the Ipperwash Fiasco. People don't realize they had automatic rifles on an indigenous-owned island down the road at Point Edward that we knew were there because the idiots were firing them off in the air for days like it was jihad in the middle east or something. When you hear that shit, and just down the road, you have hundreds of not, so law-abiding people protesting, and you're told that those rifles will come to where you are, it changes the way policing has to be handled. Officers with their hands in front of them to protect themselves suddenly have a hand on their sidearm. Snipers need to be set up because you're being told that automatic rifles will soon be in the damn woods on lands you cannot access, and they'll be aimed at you. Simply, shit is set up to happen, and all it takes is a fucking idiot in a mask swinging a piece of wood around that looks like a gun and POW, somebody gets shot.

Notice the important part of that, though? No automatic rifles, no snipers, no fuckheads in balaclava's pointing wood at police, nobody gets shot. Now let's apply that to the border/Ottawa/Toronto. No truckers, blocking international trade for an already horrifically damaged economy and people trying to get to and from their jobs, no people lobbing beer bottles with the intent to injure or maim someone, nobody gets arrested, no trucks get impounded, no kids aren't taught that the police are some sort of evil entity and the world is happy. Reverse that with people's actions and somebody has to do something about it.

Simple, and that's the truth.

So should Ottawa protesters have been moved? The answer to that is that the police took too long. They should have evicted those idiots before it turned into some sort of "US vs The Man" bullshit where the police are put in a position where every single action they take is just a varying level of failure. That is to say that it was impossible for it to turn out where everyone had smiles. Nobody forced those idiots to block all of downtown Ottawa or the bridge, though, so who really was wrong when people were legally evicted??

Anyways, the book is done, and I truly am not going to respond to anti-police, your version of the truth, those shitheads in Ottawa should have been patted on the head for holding a month-long party while they damaged Canada even more than it already was bullshit. Want to logically debate right versus wrong and the Criminal Code of Canada, and we're fine. Want to try to tell me that what happened to a bunch of lawless drunks was SAD/BAD/Wrong and seriously, fuck off.

Remember when bodybuilding boards were about bodybuilding and related things?

I do….boy do i miss those days!

Now everything is about global domination, politics and how the world is going to end.

Sorry folks if this is your thing…. But I just can’t take anymore.

Are there not other forums better suited to talk about this shit?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all in for bullshiting each other, locker room talk and venting about things that piss off off. I also understand how something like covid and the things that stemmed from all the stupidity weaved it’s way into the forums because it affected absolutely everyone and everything about our lives. But isn’t it time to move forward and get back to what this board is supposed to be about? At least a little?!?!?

fuck me…. Are we seriously going to continue down this rabbit hole debating who was right and who was wrong over the Ottawa protests or whatever you choose to call them? To what point exactly?

All this becomes is an echo chamber of validation seeking behaviour and arguments with whomever doesn’t see things the way others see things. It changes nothing and is completely fucking pointless to be honest. Some discussion…. I get…. But these discussions dominate EVERYTHING.

How about we talk about more relative things more often…. Or at least try to.

Either that or we just shitcan this place and become a forum about politics, global domination and flat out the coming of the four horsemen.

My comments aren’t to pick on anyone on the board or in this thread in particular….but I can’t be the only member here who is tired of seeing endless threads and posts like the one above this one.

I don’t have time to read that, so I’ll presume your argument would be against the protesters, mine would be for it.
We can agree to disagree, don’t let me wreck your day lol.

PFFFT. My argument would be for a China-style, 200 guys with wooden clubs running at all the drunken truckers holding their kids in front of them like human shields. Guy with the most dents in the club gets a couple grand that everybody kicked in for before they got to cracking some damn skull!

:)

From the carrier's perspective, they have full access to all sms and call history, but who uses SMS now a day anyways? And you're completely missing my point. You can control your network as much as you like, but that's not what this thread was about. You're concerned about TikTok because it accesses your camera, contacts, etc... Regardless of a VPN or encryption, the operating system has FULL access to everything. That operating system is owned by Google. There is no getting away from it. They already know 10x more than TikTok ever will through the permissions granted in the app.
