Want to get sick if you're been using Tik-Tok for a little fun? Go read their TOS-Terms of Service.

I'll just go into a few because I want you to go read them yourselves.

Agree to allow them to access your camera? - Yes. Agree to allow them to access your microphone? - Yes. Agree to let them access your files, and photos? - Yes.

It goes on and on. If you want to get sick, read the terms.

Who owns Tik-Tok? - CCP - Chinese Communist Party.

You must be asking! Why can they be allowed to have 100s of millions of downloads off of Apple or Google Apps? Because they're not lying or hiding their piracy. If they were accessing your microphone and listening to you, make sensitive comments with your work, and it wasn't in their terms? They would get de-platformed. But since they've laid out each and every single stunning attack on your privacy/access to your phone in English inside their terms, they're living up to Google's terms.

Seriously. Get this shit off your phone and make sure your kids realize that they could just be LOOKING at themselves on their phone without actually taking photos, and the CCP could be taking pictures or recording whatever they want off their phone. Your phone could be sitting upright on your dresser and they could be taking videos of your or your wife naked. Banking information? Of course, they can because you've clicked okay for them to access your data.

In my personal opinion, i dont think a grown man should be on tik tok lol. To each his own tho. I have friends that think it weird to approach people face to face now. Yet they will see a girl, go home, add them on instagram and not say hi but send a meme? Somehow thats normal now?

I don't really pay attention to Joe Rogan's podcasts but this one pointed out a big difference between Chinese version and North American version of Tik Tok:

“The way China is handling it is so different than America,” said Rogan. “China’s version of TikTok celebrates academic achievements and athletic achievements. It’s all science projects. All these different fascinating things.”

What makes it even more impressive, in his view, is the fact that it has a ‘youth mode.’ It’s a feature that limits people under 14 from using the app for more than 40 minutes per day, and the shut-off time is 10pm.

He believes this is a good thing. “They’re trying to encourage achievement, right? They’re doing all these things with like this idea of engineering a society of more accomplished, more successful people.”

Social media apps are changing the basic behaviors in youth and how they deal with issues. Now kids are putting how they feel about things online instead of talking to friends and family. That informaion is being mined and analyzed to create apps, products and forum to keep folks coming back to apps like Tik Tok.

Do yourselves a favor and read the book called "Hooked" by Nir Eyal. It is the best resource available in deciphering how social apps and websites work in my opinion.

Never had it never will. Ffs any grown ass man needs to be gazed if caught perusing the site.
The crazy part about the permissions is that NOBODY views it as dangerous. Give it unlimited access to my camera and microphone? What's it matter because I don't make videos. I just watch things like someone snorting cayenne pepper and then almost dying for 3 minutes! They're never going to NEED access to all those things versus wait...they're taking "market research from what's behind your camera while you're using other social apps.

Alot of people don't know what giving permissions does or how to shut them off. Worst of all, they think that closing tik-tok shuts the app down. It doesn't. Like a lot of shit it stays resident in memory. Probably a Google enable "feature" to load quicker by being memory resident.

Sorry if I'm bitchin but this crap is how China wires our balls into their fucked up ways.

Have you seen the documentary about the young girls getting tiks and tourrrttes syndrome after the lockdown and common factor was tik tok viewing it was on 60 minutes and it is very crazy. You know the Chinese are doing experiments on brain manipulation. IMO

I mean plenty of apps use all of the same setting permission. Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, hell even myfitnesspal does. Is the main reason of bastardizing tik tok just because it’s owned by a chinese company? I don’t think the billionaires who own the NA ones are much better lol. They’re storing the same information realistically, just on home soil. They’re probably even selling it to China anyway.

All that is not to say I like tik tok or any social medias. I am on the same page as y’all with it frying the next generation’s mind. Causes a very radical and activist-esque movement mind among them as well since they’re easily persuaded by the guy with eye shadow and lipstick on.

True, moreover, most of us are handling every piece of information to the powers that be voluntarily or by design. We have been given the illusion that you have a choice on what you are doing or you have a means not to be spied on or influenced on your decisions. The day you let your name be associated with an identity accessed electronically, you are part of the data technology holds.

So either you go Amish or just live life in a far flung village free of any technology if you want to be really free.

Just my two cents, oh no banks either, learn the ancient ways to barter.

better not apply for a passport either. signing up for the gyms we all go to even requires your name and signature most of the time. Hell even handing them over your banking info for payments unless you have a cash arrangement with the owner. And that’s physical stuff that is put into a database. Everything is taking our info. Nothing is a secret about you unless you use a fake alias and wear a ski mask around every security camera.

What is the name of this documentary? My nephew is eleven years and niece is nine, would like to tell my brother to watch it.

I'd stay away from Tik Tok just for the attention span issues, they are showing you things that either excite you, surprise you, anger you, etc. for a few seconds and then onto the next one. Little hits of dopamine one after the other to keep you scrolling for as long as you can. That can't be good for your attention span or your brain long term...

How many people here scroll endlessly on social media when you are bored? Next time try asking yourself "what am I on here to do?" and you will find its difficult to answer sometimes.

And the Chinese Government goes...clink clink, adrev, clink clink, adrev, clink clink, steal your data, clink clink, steal pussy pickity from your wife...

every app where you take or post pictures needs access to your camera, microphone and photos. How else would you make the app work?
Not sure why you trust a Chinese company less than an American one. At one point IG had in their terms that they could go into your pics and use/sell them for advertising. It didn't last long as people were obviously upset.

Not saying apps like this aren't cancer, but what you're "exposing" here isn't news.
