I don't normally do stuff like this but I am in shock. I lost a dear friend yesterday who drowned while trying to save her kids while swimming in Florida. She was a great mother of 7 kids, beautiful and smart. She was only 36.
Tough situation... kids will surely feel the effects their whole lives.. Hopefully kids have family support near by.
It really bothers me to hear parent deaths/kids deaths now that I'm a dad.. It just hits you very very hard. There's been a few times I've had to close a link/turn the news off when the news story is about a child death/missing kid/sexually abused kid... just can't stomach watching/listening to it anymore.
Thanks folks. All her kids are fine physically but that is about it. more information came out. She went into the waer to get four of her kids who were struggling against a suddenly strong current and was aided by a couple of guys. All the kids were assisted to shore but she was unable to battle the undertow. The guys from shore battled to get her out where CPR was performed, but she died later in hospital. @The Old Guy there isn't a fundraiser that I am aware of. I'm pretty sure the Muslim community in Florida will be looking into it.
