I remember back when I trained at Franks, Billy Chow was World Welter Weight kick boxing champ for a few years. I saw him easily take other kick boxers apart in the ring. He went to Thailand and got beaten up pretty bad by a low level guy. Soon after that, Frank started to train us in Thai boxing. A lot of training went into toughening you up. I remember that’s when that stupid sand filled skinny attached to the floor bag showed up. I loved to abuse myself and I would kick that stupid thing over and over again to toughen up my shins. Anyone who has kuckboxed or Thai boxed knows how much it hurts when you block another guys kick with your shins. Used to beat my elbows on this thing, and punch this piece of plywood attached to springs on the wall with wraps on. My shins still are bumpy, lol.
I liked Thai boxing. I always thought it was a bit ruthless, lol.
