Chicken or the Egg - GLP-1 agonists

Morning,

Not sure who has been following the patient complaints about hair loss from GLP-1 agonists. Most it is significant shedding compared to what they are used to seeing.
There is a lot of literature to find if you want to take a deep dive. I wrote chicken of the egg because the 'general consensus' is a rapid reduction in hunger, calories, nutrients may have a 'shocking' effect on your hair. From some of the reports here and the massive reduction in weight while on GLP-1 agonists and a calorie restriction diet - I would think would be a shock to the body. Some of the reports of the members are really astounding.
It is not thought to be a toxic effect from the drug itself but time will tell as it is studied more closely.

I don't think anyone will argue a minor calorie restriction and slower reduction is a healthier avenue, but so it being natural if you have normal testosterone so no judgment by anyone who wants a little boost to lose some BF. I have used Reta and will have the results of my liver ultrasound when my doctor gets back from vacation to let me know if the Reta did help with minor fatty liver.

I like medical news today as a site that has some interesting articles, studies, etc. I have been watching this for a while and curious. Many don't give a shit about hair loss, but I don't think anyone 'wants' to lose their hair as we are a little vain - I think it is human nature.

Curious is anyone noticed hair loss while taking this class of medication and was it a rapid weight loss or a steady slow reduction.

Not sure about hair as ive been bald and been shaving my head for 15 years.
I have noticed, i need to put on readers to read anything. Even to draw from a pep vial. That little bullseye is too small.

Welcome to being old.

When you get blind enough, use monovision. So much better than glasses.

This is what I did. Buy "Dailies" from Clearly online. You buy +0.5 (or whatever strength cheaters you are using, but not over +1.0) contacts You only need one pack of 30, because you are only putting it in one eye.

I can't remember how to do it, but you figure out which is your non dominate eye (look it up online) and you put the contact in that eye.

Wear the contact from morning till you go to bed every day. Your brain will adjust and you won't need cheaters anymore.

Couple of notes. If you fall asleep on the couch the contact will bond to your eye, so either leave it in for the night, or use eye drops.

Do not rub the eye with the contact hard, or you will dislodge it and have to dig around in your eyeball to find it. Or it will pop out and you won't find it which will freak you out more that it is in the back of your eyeball, lol.

I use the dailies for a week, Just soak them in the juice every night. I know they recommend to throw them out daily, but they are strong enough. I don't rub them to clean them, just toss them in the juice. I like dailies because they are thinner and you don't feel them.

This will work perfect for you, you will be able to read everything at your job, and will only need cheaters if you are doing something that is tiny, or with super small writing. I have been doing this for 7 years. I am now at a +2 contact. I started at +0.5. Your eyes change. Without the contact, I would for sure need glasses right now. I wouldn't be able to read my phone or paperwork.

I like it because glasses at work get dirty easily, plus I am in and out of a freezer all the time and they would fog.

I haven't noticed any hair loss on it. I wonder if its at the higher doses. I do notice my vision has been a bit worse since I started it. Like @storman said that little bullseye is getting a bit blurry to see and i have always had perfect eye sight.
