Anybody Notice Grocery Prices Going Up?

What do you mean we passed the gold standard?

My not expert understanding of the gold standard is a country on the gold standard can not print 1$ unless it has 1$ in gold reserves. If I'm correct, how have we passed it? Again, I could be wrong.

I also beleive other countries when they were on the gold standard would go past 1 for 1 and would only print 1$ if they had say 5$ in gold in reserve.
Gold ran out of steam and silver is taking over

The gold standard you speak of hasn't been around for decades

Yeah. I learned all that in 2011 when NATO was dropping freedom bombs on Libya.
Then I started comparing the stories on the CBC to media around the world, and havent believed a single word from the mainstream media ever since.
Check out his book. Green book. The media conveniently overlooked it.
See what NATO left behind? They have open slave trade. But all that matters is the oil and a private central bank controls the debt.
But it was his own fault for opposing what the Israelis do. You cant oppose them and expect to keep your country safe. That instantly makes you a brutal dictator.

I just learned of the water thing today... I knew about all the free stuff her brought to his citizens and how he was trying to go to gold standard with their own currency and not be tied to what the world wanted with their oil etc..

The water thing though.. wow... The whole world turns their back because of what we are told when the world should have been demanding NATO/USA be held accountable

Its almost like NATO is used to serve one countries interests, and that country isnt even a member. Lol

Got any recipies?
I bought some the other day and have no idea what to do with it.
Here's what I do.

Slice it up thin. I cut anything off that doesn't look like pure liver.. I can't really describe it, but weird chunks, connective tissue type stuff.

Soak it in butter milk or plain milk over night.

Take it out and rinse it.

I put about 1 cup of flour, a good amount of salt, pepper, garlic power and onion powder in a bowl and mix it.

Drag liver chunks in the flour mix.

Drop on cast iron with a good oil (avacod, beef tallow etc) at med heat

I flip each slice when its brown and crispy

In another cast iron, I do fried onions.. Slice onion up and fry in good oil until it's clear.. we like it a bit burnt. I usually drop some butter in the onions when they are almost done frying to give them the buttery taste

Put lots of finished onion on the finished liver when you eat it.

The butter milk sucks out blood and strong flavour.. don't skip that step... Onions, wether you like them or not, make the liver much better.. I hate onions, but love them fried with liver.

We like the liver well done, lots of people do not like it well done.. so try it at various doneness..

my wife always tells me after I rinse the liver, I should dry it and them drag it in egg before putting it in the four mix.. but I forget.. one day I'll listen and it will probably taste better.

I am going to try this

For those complaining about grocery prices going up in Canada. I'm canadian but spend my winters in Miami, Florida. And I can say with confidence that prices in Canada are definitely cheaper than the US after the exchange rate especially for fruits and vegetables. For example despite strawberries and oranges being grown in Florida prices are much higher in Florida.

In Miami I spend between 230 to 250$ week US on groceries for myself only. In Canada for the exactly same stuff I spend 220 to 230$ Canadian.

But keep in Mind Miami is very expensive and I see many Canadians moving down south and freaking out at the cost of living.
It's not just in Canada and don't believe it's a political thing with groceries. Florida is. 100% republicans state and prices are insane on everything.

A single Person needs to make minimum of 5.000$ US a month just to survive in Miami.
That's the equivalent to 6.800$ Canadian.

I've been living in Miami for 25 yrs in winter and prices have tripled since mid 2000s.
It's just how life works.

However the biggest diffirence is that the economy is Miami is booming and there are plenty of ways to make money. I know Cubans doing pressure washing cleaning and they make 500 $ cash day. Plentiful of landscape jobs at wealthy areas.

I'm invested in the TRT business and it's an industry that keeps on climbing every year steadily because of the presence on socially media. So you can definitely make money in Florida no problem if you're willing to work.

The problem in Canada is that the economy is so bad that there are no jobs and no way of making money even when you want to work. I shut down my TRT clinics in Canada because I was actually losing money. I sold my gyms and most my real estate in Canada. Canada is just in. Very bad state right now and see so many Canadians moving down south.

And believe me. In the US, medical services are much better. Private top tier insurance costs between 9.000 to 12.000 year, but it's worth it 100% and no wait time. And most Canadians who move to the USA make an average of 30.000 more year, so you pretty much balance everything out.

Ya,. but as you said, that's miami...

That's like a Canadian living in Jasper and using Jasper prices to determine the cost of living in Canada.

True. But even in cheaper places like Texas. Prices are definitely on the higher side for groceries. This is all over North America. Very cheap affordable places are for example costa Rica, cartagena Columbia, panama city, some places in Mexico and Thailand. Many Canadians relocate to those places For retirement. I've visited all those places and some places like Panama city, you can feed an entire family of 4 for 100$ a week. And the food is mostly all locally grown which is why it's Canadian favourite for retirement.

Costa Rica is not cheap whatsoever.....even when and where you can escape any gringo tax and staying out of tourist areas.

costa Rica is definitely more affordable than Canada. Even Thailand has gone up in cost of living. But dollar per dollar it's still more than 50%cheaper than Canada.

I see more and more Canadians leaving in the near future as well as businesses. Canadians have options to start somewhere else. But I somehow feel Canadians are too comfortable and lazy and complain too much. They pretty much blame the government for everything.

I don't know..maybe it's the Canadian system. My businesses are mostly based in the US and I would never start another business in Canada anymore. It's just not a place to do business. Weak dollar, poor economy, high taxes.

Disagree wholeheartedly from my experience. Most of my time there was in San Jose and surrounding mountains down to Limon and then onto the Panamanian border. Not tourist places, with the exception of San Jose obviously.

Other Central American countries for sure but not Costa Rica. Maybe 20 to 30 years ago....not now.

I am sure if I was situated the same with my business here and in the US I would make more money in the US even at a higher business tax rate.

The cost of raw materials are lower and they are selling at almost the same price as we are. Plus in US dollars. So if I make 500,000 a year profit US, it would be 30%+ higher in Canadian dollars.

Buddy of mine owns (well his wife owns) the little potato company, he says the US arm of this business is far more suscessful.
