“It has been my gut-level (sorry, pun) feeling for a while now that the McDonald's McDouble, at 390 calories, 23g (half a daily serving) of protein, 7 percent of daily fiber, 20 percent of daily calcium and iron, etc., is the cheapest, most nutritious, and bountiful food that has ever existed in human history.”

OHP - Push Press, I've worked up to 285 over head in a push press and I can say it helped with shoulder, trap and overall upper body mass.
Fack!!!!

Nice work...you big cunt!!!

I'll chime in for the deadlift as well. I can understand from a pure bodybuilding perspective why it may not be a favourite...I like it so much because it improves strength in so many areas overall.

And to speak purely...ummm, let's say... irrationally....nothing stokes the ego more than killing a big deadlift. Can't say why exactly, but it does. Those days are gone mostly, but I still have a few days that make me happy....relatively speaking of course.

I'll be honest, I started doing these a few months ago. I didn't know they had a different name than bent over row, I just felt I was "too upright" when doing mine so I went straight back like this. Pretty cool it's actually different than a BOR.

Either way, I feel it on the very first rep to the last and I can see the difference.
The key to these is lifting the weight off the ground every time - no bouncing - pause half a second - use a slow negative 3 seconds & a explosive concentric.
Started them at 55 yrs old combined with German Volume Training 10 sets of 10 reps. Wasn't on Gear but my back blew up - no one would believe me that I wasn't on Roids.

Stepped up my game last night and was eating triples 😅

You're killing me with these burgers haha. Normally I am very strict and rarely take cheat meals, but there might be five guys in the near future now.
Once and a while doesn’t hurt bro. Usually have it as my last meal as well

Back to the original topic. I will say the bench press

Probably the first real movement i did and still love doing to this day

Yeah man, deadlifts just hit differently. They’re one of those lifts that make you feel solid, not just in the gym but overall. I used to push them to the point of breaking myself down, but now I focus on feeling strong and actually benefiting from them long-term. There’s definitely something about pulling heavy that just feels right—even if it’s not as often as before, it still hits when it does.

It's because no one else does dead lifts anymore and it really spews dominance because of the shear amount of weight you can move... There's nothing that says "this is actually my gym and I am just letting all these lesser men work out here out of my own kindness" than a deadlift...

Truthfully, no one really deadlifts anymore.. And when someone does, its a fucking sumo or some back breaking poor form deadlift.

Holy fuck.. I just remembered a good story lol...

I work out at a multiplex community center gym... 90 year old ladies are just as common as teenagers..

Last year there was this guy mid 20's who joined the gym in guessing sept.. When he first joined he was decent guy.. lifted weights appropriate to his strength and size.. I thought he was on the right track and decent guy.. we're talking benching 150lbs for 6 reps or so, dumbbell curls with 30's etc.. beginner weights, but he was sticking with the right weight and form.. quiet, respectable etc.. I actually had it on my mind to compliment him on his progress if the situation ever arose where we had a conversation at the gym

Then somewhere around December something fucking happened to him.. He doubled his lifting weights, form became some of the worst I had ever seen and he got cocky... like real cocky. Wore tank tops with imaginary lat syndrome, "curling" 50lbs dumbelles with the worst dam form I had ever seen lol... It was just awful.. then he started giving advice to everyone else in the gym. bad lifting advice. people in the know would laugh at him behind his back and some young kids listened to him and copied him etc..

Anyways he only ever did exercises which allowed him to use heavy weights with really bad form.. for example, dumbell curls were in his trianing because he'd swing those fucking things like he was shovelling snow.. He didn't do things like Lat pull downs because you can cheat a bit, but its tough to cheat enough to move big weights.

I would shake my head at him, but kept to myself..

Until one day I walked in and he was doing deadlifts lol... Ya you can cheat a bit, but you ain't moving super heavy weights even with shit form... It happened to be my deadlift day as well. I had not deadlifted in a couple months due to injury, but I was planning on doing them that day.. I parked myself right beside him.. he was already up to 2 plates aside or somethign similar.. shit form .. and he was being quite cocky/flexing in the mirrors/trying to walk around like god.... anyways, I made sure to quickly get up to my working set before he was done.. I did my 5 plates aside for about 8 with great form.. He did like like 2 plates and a 35 with shit form for a rep or two.. It was great.. lots of people were in the gym that day who watched this twat evolve into the douche bag he was..

He used to work out every single night... After that day I only ever saw him a couple more times.. I havent' seen him since maybe last spring? Not saying that day is the reason, but it sure put him into his place.

I heard from someone else that he had a accident at the gym last spring.. I can't recall, but it was getting pinned in the leg press or something similar where he got super embarassed...

Foot elevated split squats. Hits glutes, quads, my flexibility, and trains knees over toes all with minimal loading. I pinch plates on each side to get some good grip work in too. Fixed my knee, and tin man level flexibility. Moving better than I have in a long time, and have gotten great glute development out of it.

Solid choice

For thighs, squats are the goat. Nothing makes my thighs as sore as squats.

I’m finally up to 225 for 11, so getting there. 300 for 8 is my max goal. I want to fit into normal pants, so they will be big enough by that point. The advantage of being short and easier to fill out.

I am hoping to post up thigh pics instead of just my arms, lol.
“Hoping” to post up leg pics????? No sir, when we start “Drive to 55” end of summer after we both turn 54, legs, upper front and back shots will be mandatory.

Sure.
Right now I am getting my blood pressure under control, its very low 130's over 83 and I am not happy with that. Before I dropped the junk food I was upper 130's. Stupid blood pressure machine died and I thought I was in the 120 range. When it started to show me at 110/60 I knew it was fucked, lol.

So I have cut down on my junk food (salt covered saltyness) and upped my cardio, so I am going to lean out now.

Once I get everything under control I will put on some more mass

Heavy shrugs. I love doing them and my traps were big. I've got an annoying AC Joint injury in my right shoulder that prevents me from going heavy now so I've got some catching up to do whenever this heals. I'm pushing it slowly, today we step it up.

Squats: my quads were looking good until I got a patellar tension injury shovelling snow of all things. Working on that now too...

its always been the squat for me. This year i changed stuff though , instead of heavy high bar i switched and ive been doing belt squats for high reps like sets of 20, 30 ,40 kind of thing in the 500-600 range, and my body scan from october- to january 1 i put 1.8 lbs of lean tissue on each leg.
my legs are just under the 30 inch mark now with me right leg being about half inch bigger

Bottom Half ROM smith machine squats with heels elevated and feet forward, focusing on knees over toes and hamstrings touching calves.

Quads doubled in size.

Honestly when they were $1.47, back in 2014 I lived NEXT DOOR to a McDonald’s. no joke I ate 12-15 of them bitches every fuckin day, throw in 2L choc milk and a few bananas and some protein powder, that was my full diet. My chest hurt at night when I’d lay down for bed, but I looked fuckin great 😆
