donated blood today to help lower my RBC/ IRON

I donated a month ago and I live in Newfoundland. Booked appointment and filled out questionnaire online. Showed up and they scanned app on my phone and I immediately went into room where nurse checked hemoglobin level and I signed document basically saying I have no knowledge of being hiv positive.
Then proceeded to chair where they took five vials of blood first and then the donation began which took 7 minutes.

I would recommend to download app and book online because it certainly speeds up the process.

This is essentially what happened to me as well except the nurse that made you sign HIV form went over my entire form with me ..

Place I went to had multiple tablets set up in booths to do the online quiestionaire.. was very wuick and easy
Yes that was the same during my first donation, but subsequently after getting the app and card now they just scan card or app and that by passed the actually filling out of forms in the booth as you mentioned

There is one really nice one who does the blood draws, not really hot just nice looking and well built, really nice to talk with. I have thought about asking her out but it seems inappropriate. Normally that wouldn't worry me too much but I really stuck my foot in my mouth with one of the intake ladies one time and I'm kind of gun shy around them all now. The intake lady in question was probably younger than would be favored for a man of my age and fairly attractive.
We are doing the intake in an isolated little booth. She says something like- "Oh your blood pressure is nice and low today" and for some reason (I think I had a headache or something) I reply "Maybe in my arm..." She stared at me blankly while her face turned red. I'm just looking at her thinking hmm that's weird.... I sort of sensed the ladies smirking around me for the rest of that visit, seemed strange. The next morning I woke up and sat on the edge of my bed and it hit me, OH. FUUCK.

Oh we all do that. Eventually I just own it and move on, lol.
Maybe they were giggling because they think you are sexy.
Oh and ask her out, damn life’s too short, plus even if it’s a no, it’s 100% no if you never ask.

There is an app?

Lol, the girl asked me which arm I preferred. I straightened my arms and clenched my fists and said, you pick, lol.
She actually got excited.
I was only 168, but I really needed to donate. I’ve felt hypertensive lately and my bp has been raising, now I feel great and it my bp dropped back down. It was almost a year, I gotta get in more often,

Didn't Dwight do something similar in the Office?

So I donated today, a few things I remembered to pay attn to because of this thread. FWIW here is what they told me - the entire program is supposed to be consistent across the whole country. Yes there was a small bag of about 20-50 ml used, the sample from that bag is what goes into the five vials which is what gets tested. She laughed a little when I mentioned I had never noticed the vials, apparently that's common so I'm not a complete ignoramus. Or I am just one of many in the large group. Or I am distracted by healthy breasts.

Barcode stickers go on everything to link them all together, testing of the vials is done locally if possible, if they all test good the big bag is sent to a major centre/distribution place.

No more BP testing, I asked if they could do it for me as the cuff was right there but intake lady said they are not allowed to. Low temperature no longer disqualifies you but high still does and it definitely is supposed to be checked.

I think that's about it...

Hemoglobin checked sir?

Does anyone struggle with lethargy on trt? For the first 3 months I had loads of energy. And then I hit a wall and it’s been a struggle to put in good workouts. My bloodwork came back in normal ranges but I’m going to try and donate blood and see if that helps.

If your bloodwork is good and hematocrit and hemoglobin is good and low i cant see donating helping. You could have another issue. I could be wrong 🤷‍♂️

I’ve just heard of people on trt donating every 8 weeks and feeling great afterwards. Regardless of whether their blood work is high. I feel like it’s worth a try.

Yup.
If you can do it, and are healthy, you should.
It helps someone out.
It helps you out, since theres a lot of health benefits from donating....
