watches

@animal-inside you all know I work underground. My guess watch lasted a good while without breaking. 300 dollar watch. But then when the pin broke cost me over 100 bucks to get a stupid pin changed because they had to send it out for a special pin, (dont ask I thought it was stupid too)

Well several watches later I decided to just order a 20 dollar watch from Amazon since I figured I’d break in no time like most watches. And well this darn cheap ass watch is outlasting pretty much any watches IVe ever owned in one of the harshest environments imaginable. It’s a very simple digital display with a button to light up the digits.

Moral of the story no more expensive watches for me lol

Yup, that's where I'm at.. I don't buy expensive ear buds for the same reason.. The most I'll pay for ear buds is 40$, because they don't last the way I am..

Well.... I broke the luxe today... The piece that you tuck the tag end of the strap after it goes through the buckle broke. So the watch is totally usable, but now the tag end of the strap sticks out. I can not see the rest of the strap not breaking sooner than later because it seems to be made of the same material...

After a LOT of looking at watches on amazon (there is 1000's by the way)... I decided to get a cheap, small (as small as I could) smart watch...

I really didn't think I would like a smart watch, but I'm using the sleep info a lot... I have issues sleeping due to shoulder pain and somedays I wake up well feeling tired as shit, but I thought slept and now I can see I did in fact not sleep well.. I also like the heart rate tracker. Again, for someone who is pretty diligent about working on my longevity its nice.. I wish the watch I got monitored blood pressure, but I forgot to make sure it had it before I ordered it. I also wish I got a watch with a metal, leather or canvas band, but for the price I paid for this one I figured I'd be ok without.

I spent hours on amazon lol... But any time I found one I liked it was too big, not water proof enough, too expensive or had shitty reviews..

For 35$ it will be cheap enough to see if I will like or hate a smart watch.

I saw this watch last week was around 90$.. 60% off amazon prime...

I have to carry my phone with me at work incase of emergencies.. I hate that.. I'm looking forward to leaving my phone locked in my work desk now... bonus of a smart watch over traditional

Bulova has some nice watches if you dont want to spend much, you can get something nice for under 1k

My everyday watch is a Hamilton Jazz master H36606130. Its a really nice watches comfortable.

The best watch I own is a Rolex Skydweller

I'm more of a Casio/Timex guy :ROFLMAO:

My strap thing too has been broken for a while but nothing else has fucked up on it

I thought I'd come back here for an update.. That cheap as shit smart watch I bought is something else.. It showed up over a week ago. i wish the face was smaller, but smart watches just have bigger faces and I can accept that. I also wish the band was metal and I wish this one had a setting to leave the face on all the time.. IT doesn't. I have to turn my wrist and wait a 1/2 a second before it turns on and tells me the time..

Aside from that, its been the best 30$ I have spent in years.

When it got here, I started doing all the shit I usually do like fishing, trimmed trees, fixing vehciles, lifting weights etc. For a few days I had to stop myself from taking it off before doing stuff that might get it wet, scracthed, ripped or dirty.. but I told myself to leave it on.. It's either going to be a peice of shit or it will be fine, but I do not want to own a watch I have to take off to do the things I do.. So it's stayed on and it's held up with no issues, no scratches, no glitches etc..

What has been most impressive is that I am beaver trapping a farm for the past week. The beavers moved into a pond and damned up a feild, blocked a culvert and flooded a road.. I've been at that farm every couple days unclogging culverts, setting trapa in the mud, up to my elbows in swamp water and mud etc.. And the watch held up.. I literally had my arms up to my shoulders in a clogged culvert pulling mud/brances out of it for 30 mins straight.. I had my arms into the pond up to my shoulder searching for a beaver trap with a beaver in it that fell into the mud/water.. watch looks and operates like its brand new.

I only use it to track sleep, heart rate, tell time/day of week and it also shows me the temp on the main screen.. I do not use it for any other smart feature like text/calls etc so I can't comment on that..

It does piss me off that I bought it during amazon prime days and it said it was 35.99$ marked down from 85$.. but when I checked today, well after amazon prime days its now being sold for 31.99$.

Damn should’ve finished reading the thread before looking lmao.

I was going to say if you wanted something unbreakable and solar powered get yourself a g shock. They make nice ones now that aren’t ugly as sin. This one is this neon green I’m not a fan of, but I own it in blue and it’s one of my favourite grab and go watches

Hard to find the blue one online. I’ve seen it in malls though.
