I need the most watered down version of crypto than someone can give me. Now question 1 . What is the best free wallet you can use for Canada ? Question 2 what is the best site / app to cash out your crypto in Canada to deposit to your bank account. I’m a complete crypto newb.

Can you easily turn your bitcoin into cash there and cash it out ?
Yeah it's easy to sell and etransfer the money.
I use it only to purchase gear with Bitcoin from reps who prefer it. There are quite likely better wallets out there but it's really easy to use.

Buy with Shakepay. Then transfer to coinbase wallet to send from for payment transfers
Fuck coinbase they're scammers. Why transfer from a custodial wallet to another custodial wallet?

Shakepay is crazy easy to use. Buy with shakepay and you can send and receive from there. If you want to send or receive from a wallet not tied to your identity, use a non custodial wallet like CoPay. For apps to buy and sell bitcoin on, they're going to require uploaded documents like drivers license as they work within CRA regulation. Using a non custodial wallet which gives you a 12 word pass phrase instead gets you around this.

Yeah that’s why I was using coinbase for transfers. Why do you think they are scammers? I’ll look into CoPay

I had a coinbase account. My phone number changed and I couldn't complete their 2FA. Contacted their customer support and sent selfies and pics of ID to try and get back in, but they never let me. Supposed to be the entire and only reason for someone to use a custodial wallet is for help with stuff like that, would have been better off with a non custodial wallet.

Lost like 1200 in bitcoin and that 1200 dollar number was 2014 evaluation

Bitbuy works ok, limited to a few cryptos shitty trade volume. Coinbase has a good selection, payments go through fast and very good trade volume. I'd go with coinbase personally.

At any rate, you'll want to move your crypto to either a hardware wallet or a good software wallet. These exchanges do not have the crypto on hand, what they have is an IOU with your name on it.

If you dont hold it you dont own it!

What are you guys using to send bitcoin for payments? I’ve been using Shakepay for but they recently changed the minimum to 0.001 bitcoin, which makes the app useless for any transfers less than ~$55?

So is copay a hardwallet or how would one get a hard wallet... Or a software wallet?

Bitget:

Not my referral link:

If you buy USDT (Tether), via debit (visa doesn't work for some reason), it's fee free. Transferring between coins is fee free, transferring to a wallet is fee free and immediate for USDT. I buy on Bitget, transfer to my wallet in Exodus if I want some weird crypto like Monero, otherwise you can just transfer USDT for free to vendors from Bitget.

In short, it's essentially fee free. If you use e-transfer it's 2.8% fee. Goes down depending on the size of the transfer.

If you withdraw money to your bank account it's a flat rate of 1 euro if under 10K. I imagine most people on here just fund, send, and rarely receive / take out their crypto.
