Your right@NSM - why not take all possibilities out of the equation and just get a private test done by a Naturopath, or private lab and pay for it? Do it one week before your actual tests to give time for results but make sure you ask how long before you can access your results online or if they will make you speak to someone.
You should be fine but when you have an opportunity like this, if there are options for blood results done privately - that is the route I would take.
Make sure you are not in a province that does not allow you to opt out of it ending in your medical file. Hard to fathom that can happen but I am told in Quebec, even if you say no and pay yourself - it will still be sent to your medical file.
good luck.
No, not online here, but there are multiple that you call and just ask if they do blood work. They use a lab in another province and give you a price list of the tests (very reasonable), and ask if you need help selecting or if you need an appointment because of a medical issue. I always say no, thanks, this is what I want done and they do blood draws twice a week. Results are back in approx. one week, and if anything is off you (something they have concern over) -you have to speak with them in person or over the phone which is another charge. They explain this all upfront - the catch is someone has to speak to you with the results (either they do which is kept in their private chart and off the Canadian Medical file or they have to send it to your doctor). I think it is horseshit but it is better than no blood work. If you pay for something, it should be yours and you decide what you do with it, but they have to cover their ass. I was off once with my liver enzymes and tried to decline but the rules were explained. If you want it private, they are obligated to assist in what the values mean, give advice to cover their ass as in see your doctor. Then you pay them again - believe a 15 minute consult is around $50.Your right
Right on.Took me 10 years but the battle is finally over!!!
