Testosterone Levels "Low Normal Range?"

I had general bloodwork done and also asked for Testosterone, Free Testosterone, Estradiol, TSH
as I've been feeling many symptoms of possible low test for years.

Here are the current stats:
Age: 37 Years Old
I've never used AAS, I don't smoke, drink etc

Estradiol : 67 <162 pmol/L
Testosterone: 10.9 Range 8.4 - 28.8 nmol/L
Testosterone Free: 209 (Range 196-636 pmol/L)

To me, it looks like I'm the bottom end of a possible "low Normal" in regards to functioning with Testosterone and Free Testosterone.
If anyone can give any input on these numbers and what you think it shows, please don't hesitate to chime in.
I'd appreciate it. I'm worried as I feel like this is still in range as to where I would be denied any real help because I'm in 'normal range"
but I still feel lousy but my general blood work looks good. They even tested thyroid and such and it was fine. So It's kinda stressful.

Thank you for taking the time to read this

Most docs, even if they should, won’t give you TRT if you are in the normal range.
If your asking hoe can I get TRT - you probably know this but if not I can explain.
If your a long time user of AAS especially if you don’t come off - blast and cruise, then the numbers aren’t surprising, if you do one or two cycles a year with proper pct - your numbers are very low for your age,

Some where on here there is a long drawn out story about how I finally got TRT.

I started about your age and with about the same 9 test level. A couple of DRs told me I needed to lose weight eat better. Always felt lousy.
Did self prescribed TRT until I got a new dr a couple of years ago. Told him what I was doing and would prefer pharma. He gave me a script and bloodwork. Been on ever since.

I've edited my original post to mention I've never done AAS in my life.

When you were self medicating TRT, You'd just go into see your old Doctor and ask for full blood work with included Test, free test, estradiol etc and he'd always provide the requisition? Just wondering how you monitored it before you found your new doc.

My test levels were lower than yours when I was 18, never used AAS before I got tested. I worked out but always felt my results were subpar compared to friends even though I had a strict diet and training regimen. My doctor at the time said I was technically in the normal range (my levels were 8nmol/L and normal was 7-28nmol/L) and that I’m fine

And that’s how I started AAS.
I’d try asking your doctor to refer you to an endocrinologist. I didn’t, which I regret.

Hopefully they refer you to an endocrinologist and you can go on trt or find out if there’s something causing the low t

Did you eventually go to an endocrinologist? If so, what did they end up doing for you? Prescribe? If not, are you still currently self medicating?

Seeing an endocrinologist now, she’s a pretty cool doctor, pretty confident she will prescribe me trt once I get off for a few months and do a blood test to show my levels didnt go back to normal

That's very good to hear you're seeing someone legit. I will take your advice and see if I can get a referral to one. I'm not on anything but my symptoms are lousy every day and quality of life is terrible. I hope they are open minded and test for imbalances that haven't been looked at.

My level was right around yours and I was pretty much same age at the time. I went to my doc well informed on TRT and he agreed to test my levels. Based on my results and how I was feeling (which IMO should count as much or more than what the levels are at) he sent me to a men’s clinic. That was an 18 month wait so I self prescribed myself till my appt, Endo was fine with what I was dosing, did BW and found I was bang on so he wrote me a script for the same amount.

So I went to a doctor to go over my blood work. They basically told me I'm in "normal range" even though I'm in the bottom low end, it's still "normal and fine." They tried to put me on anti-depressants. Would not even try to listen to anything about possible hormone levels being higher naturally when I was younger and the current drop to lower levels possibly making me feel like this. I lost all my hair so fast when I was 18/19. My hormones, DHT was probably through the roof. I was extremely athletic, muscular, lean and full naturally. My normal range where I could actually function has got to be much higher than it is now. I've been feeling lousy for years now. Anywho, I was given no referral to anywhere but a prescription for Celexa. I wasn't expecting "here's a script for test" at all or anything close but at least a referrel to someone that actually knows something.

I appreciate your input once again. I will see if I can find a doctor that will understand and actually refer me somewhere based on how I feel.

@MagnusPrime
Are you taking Celexa? If so it is one of the meds that will lower your Testosterone levels. That has been known for years but many Docs don't know about the correlation.

Oh no, not at the moment. That's what their solution was to my low normal test levels and symptoms. I refuse to take anti-depressants and other related meds. My family and friends are worse off after long-term use of them.

I would get blood work about twice a year but was always careful to keep my test levels a bit lower before I did. If I had a test come back in the mid normal range it would definitely screw any hope I had of TRT. It starts to become a bit of a game.

You also really need to know your body. If you are self medicating and something starts to feel off pay attention to that.

PM me if you’d like some advice or how to proceed

It took a while for me to get on trt, and several doctors. (I moved a lot for 4 years, due to wife’s work). I knew I needed it, but nobody would put me on it.
So I purposely drove my T-levels down. I did full body work outs, cut fat from my diet, drank like a fish the night before my blood test, so on and so forth.
I also explained to my doctor that I had zero sex drive, that my wife was going to leave me, it made me super depressed. I tried everything else up until that point (viagra, anti depressants ect)
He put me on it for a trial run, had significant improvements and he kept me on it since.

If you feel as though you need it, then you do what you gotta do to get on it, and don’t take no for an answer

That's a rough scenario. I will keep trying as you suggested. Thank you for the tips.
