Supplementing trt with more test

Why not take the time to figure out proper TRT first? Get that dialed in then if you want run a higher test cycle but at least you know where to drop back to after? I dont see the point in jumping straight into 500mg when you dont even know your actual optimized TRT dose is.
I think there is a misunderstanding, my doc capped me at 100 for a while now. I wanted to try to add 50mg so total would be 150 instead of 100. I was never trying to go to 500. At 100 I still feel some lingering low t problems.

Mention it to your doc that it feels low. Some places will perscribe up to 125mg even i think 140mg is the max ive seen.

I had thought you was the original poster, thats where I got the 500 from my apologies.

Definitely follow up with you Dr. No really they cant bump it up especially if feeling symptoms still and being low in range still.

There is no max they have to stay under for RX as long as they can justify it. If your Dr is truly capping you at 100 even after you explain symptoms and sees that bloodwork you need to go elsewhere

This imaginary cap always bothers me. There is no cap in Canada. Any practitioner who makes that claim is saying that for self serving reasons one of which is ignorance and another is laziness both of which can be overcome by anyone who really gives a shit about their patients.

Bonus point of interest - WADA who run the drug testing for the Olympics, UFC etc has no upper limit for testosterone in their drug testing regulations. Yes it is complicated but I often rake in the easy bet money when this comes up with a simple "20 bucks says you can't prove it does"

My thought is like so if black market test that is known good is going to cost me less than test C from the pharmacy then why would I even bother with following up on TRT when I pay the same price and I don't have the pain in the ass of dealing with my doctor and pharmacist constantly?

Either way you go in every now and then for testing, you feel weird or off you go in for testing, you're trying to get the dosing right because you didn't start with trt? you go in for testing.

Just doesn't make sense to me to go through the system when the system here in Canada is so bad/broken.

@19NorKing my sentiments exactly, I have recently parted ways with my provider after they failed a few skill testing questions and I would like to try other esters/carrier oils/TRT+ and not be bound to someone cross checking a list or their policy.
@SkoalEnjoyer at the levels you mentioned in your original post, it indicates you really just want to run hot and do an actual cycle. I would suggest you just ditch the script, buy some T400 to keep up to that protocol and find a Naturopath to monitor your bloodwork.

At 3 month testing intervals you will run into issues with your provider at some point trying to play the timing game. A timing mishap is probable, especially if you are new.

We have a two tier medical system here in Canada, like it or not. Some provinces may differ a little bit but the private service is available when $$$ talks. You just have to seek it out/ask around.

My 2 bits for what it’s worth.

*if a full blown approach is not what you want then stick to your providers script/protocol until you figure out your baseline and the testing gap moves to 6 months like others have mentioned prior. I have been told patience is a virtue lol.

Besides, the script and related testing from your provider is usually covered by medical or extended health benefits making it very cost efficient as well. The second tier I mentioned earlier, not so much lol.

The only reason I’m with a provider in the first place and not just getting it black market and then monitoring my bloods myself is because atleast from what I’ve been able to find in British Columbia specifically (where I’m located) there’s no labs around me that have tests for E2 as a male and the the testosterone panel isn’t even full it’s just one type of test (can’t remember if it’s free or total T it’s been a couple months since I looked into it) so I went with a provider so that way I can atleast have a full blood panel, although if anyone can correct me and show me a lab/online provider that will do full panels including E2 and SHBG for Males I will happily look into it because I would much rather just do it myself
I am in BC, ask around with Naturopaths in your area and see if one will monitor your bloodwork with or without a script. Explain to them the issue you just described about the lack of thoroughness of tests by the testosterone provider. I am sure they will be glad to take your money lol. Hopefully you don’t have to drive too far to find one. I just happened to luck out and found one that only cares that I use the hormones safely or as safe as possible. He is pretty open minded and deals with a lot of enhanced individuals.

I think they can do some more elaborate testing if required, the blood draw can be shipped farther away if necessary to find a lab with more sophisticated equipment. Now that you have a script, your regular GP might be more open to continuing it. I think Science & Humans includes more testing with each draw than UPGUYS but not 100% sure about that….

I told my doctor I take steroids, he marks the labs for steroids and they still process it here in B.C for free. if your doctor refuses they're actively trying to harm you they cant refuse. I bring him lists, like k were checking liver GGT ast alt, we're checking kidneys for EGFR and Creatinine, We're checking my RBC, hemo, cholesterol etc We're checking my prolactin and e2 and sometimes test but I'm blasting pretty ridiculously lately and I know my supplier is good so no point in seeing that I'm above 3000 total and if you want bioavailable you're gonna have to pay for it because above 1000 total they don't even check it.

He says I have no idea how to read this and I say that's great I do so you just order those tests.

This makes no sense to me, help me out here. I understand if you don't want to say where you are of course.
But. No labs "around" you that have the tests you want? Do you mean none that do it or zero labs around period? The former doesn't seem right at all.
If their are no labs "around" then how does your provider do it?

I said help me out but that's just my curiosity, I'd actually like to help you out.

Your doc is doing you a favour. You will get an accurate baseline with his way. Then as you play around you know where “normal” actually is.

I've played this game, you do not have enough time with 3 month check-ins to add extra test.

If you go to 500mg, you'll need at least 2 months to get back down. What I usually do is order at home blood work from siphox close to my appointment to make sure nothing out of whack. If you're not in range, push your appointment back.

the other trick I use is skip 2 weeks of injections, then resume normal dose. This will bring you down pretty quick. Honestly I didn't notice any negative effects either.
