Anyone else into day trading stocks? Would love to hear your key take aways from your experience. I am fairly new to it and trying to learn so I don’t blow up my port more than I have already. Option contracts are definitely my kryptonite

Don’t start day trading with your own funds off rip, 99% chance you lose it all.

Most people would have better odds at the casino.

That’s about all I got for advice because I’m yet to make anything from it.

Been trading since 2017
It’s not whah it’s all cut out to be
And by the time you understand it you depleted in capital and go back to rebuild
But yes there is money to make but I personalllt stepped back improved cash flow via business I created and will jump back now before I was a kid now I have balls and something to live for

But it is possible just a lot a lot of screen time
DAILY Debrief charts order flow voljmpe
Profile macro news

What happened
Why it happened
What did you do
Why did you do it
Why did you not do it
Why did you get out early
Why did you get In late
Why did you pee cum and get out earlt
Why did you go on tilt etc

Not directed to the OP, just general comment for those reading the thread….

Read and then re-read what @FitTrader posted. If you think it’s too much work…send me your $$ before you blow up your bankroll.

- Have a plan, know why you take the trade or don’t. Keep a journal
- Bank your profits, do not try to top tick.
- not all dips are the bottom, some will never recover.
- study the flow & vol
- know what vix means
- you should be able to read a chart without indicators.

100% agree with the two above posts. You need to have a plan and practice strict risk management.

Spy has been quite volatile lately. Spreads have been very profitable.

I take an investing approach as opposed to trading and also sell puts on stocks that are worth it. Day trading is not for me or even swing trading. Stay off social media for these, find real people that understand to learn from and don’t follow the heard. That’s my 2 cent on it. Good luck.

I find when I’m stalking it’s best to….

Stay 20 feet away
Don’t make eye contact
Wear a disguise, at bare minimum a fake moustache
Wear gloves
Make sure handles are removed from inside of panel van
Learn the line “does this smell like chloroform”

I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting. 🤔

I took the time to create what I believe is an institutional grade quant strategy, with completely custom built indicators etc. Wins 8-9/10 trades day trading calls or puts on SPY or QQQ. It's was a lot of work to develop and I'm very proud of my work, but similar to @FitTrader my main hurdle is cash flow.

It's irresponsible and psychologically hard for me to risk personal income I need to live and invest for the long term with. This is especially true as I get older and my responsibilities increase. My plan is to take some long term investments and roll them into something that I can collect a dividend from then use that money for my trading endeavors. I've personally never blown up my account or suffered substantial losses I couldn't come back from. Part of that is knowing my limits and being real with myself.

In the meantime my focus is on macroeconomic and geopolitical analysis as I find it super interesting and everyone needs a hobby I suppose.

Advice:
- If you have trouble managing your emotions or have an addictive personality this game isn't for you.
- Winning small consistently beats winning big and losing big.
- Paper trade before you risk real capital.
- Trust no one that says they never lose.
- Beware of finance shills and charlatans. It's rare for anyone worth a shit to share their actual strategy for free.

I did day trading for a while but i find it wayyy to stressful. Especially if you get a couple stop losses in a row. The urge to revenge trade is dangerous.
I do best with swing trades. Thats my strength.
Long term retirement investing yields less than swing trading for me, so im not interested even though its definitely the easiest thing to do. Dollar cost averaging and all.

And fuck options, thats the only time i actually end up red. Extremely high risk/high reward.
