Should cheating on your spouse or even common-law partner be illegal?

Hear me out lol. I pretty hard set against the government controlling us and having so many laws for every little rediculous thing but since they already do whats your thoughts on this? I like to think that if someone cheats on you theres a chance it could be somewhat your fault but not always. Say someone lets themselves go and you loose attraction to them or they treat you like shit so long you just dont have the spark for them anymore. Fine so leave them. I was watching some show about a guy who killed his partner and the woman host said this was a crime against women. Which i agree but the way she said it like its some part of a political movement had me thinking. Men do snap sometimes and hurt their wives or kill them which i think is pathetic and descusting but ive never been in that situation. I have when I was a lot younger but even then I just went after the guy for the disrespect snd told the woman good ridden. Growing up in a rough crowd the older guys I hung out with would say "hey if you can fuck my old lady give er. If she goes for it you end up getting laid and i end up finding out she's a cheater and not worth my time, win win situation". But in all honesty to have your spouse cheat on you after having kids, providing for all of them for decades and then just ruining your marriage is pretty much the same as ruining your life. I told my wife if she ever cheats on me and has to tell me id like to think I would just say fuck it and move on but I font know how id take it. I could have a heart attack or snap. I wouldn't hurt anyone but just the same if she wants to tell me she's better off doing it over the phone lol. Anyway there are so many ways that the government is trying to protect women from men these days but every man knows that women can hold your life in their fingers and ruin it with a simple twist of the wrist and squeeze every last bit of life out of you. If the law is going to embrace and protect every part of women even the unstable stuff should the law also protect men where we are vulnerable? I know a few guys who've lives have been ruined because they hooked up with or married the wrong girl and she turned out to be a fucking disaster. Should cheating on your spouse be illegal and carry some sort of punishment that would make people hesitate strongly before doing it? I really dont think so but hypothetically could that be a good thing?
 
No way could they!! Back in the good 'ol days guys could go ahead and take care of the problem themselves and move on and today if the guy is at fault Bobbit him and move on.

You fuckin near had me. Writing a book that is, but I hit the backspace button before shit got out of hand.
Marriage - No it shouldn't be illegal but as it stands now in effect it is almost legally encouraged and that should change. By encouraged I mean that we have no fault divorce which is bullshit IMO. You can't write it into a marriage contract, well you can write it but it's not enforceable. No fault prevents imposing financial or other penalties for heinous personal behaviour like cheating. That's technically how it's supposed to go but don't try and tell me their is no bias against males in divorce especially if the woman claims any kind of abuse.
Short version of the half book I wrote - We had a deal and you broke it, I bet my life and future on you keeping your promise so now you can fuck right off with nothing.
For the record, no infidelity in my case but the fuckton of guys I have seen be ruined mentally and then financially by the current system and the cunts who play it drives me nuts.

So ya I agree government does not belong in anyone's bedroom but stay the fuck outta my marriage contract too.

Funny you say this... As I was writing my post on this thread earlier, I had something similar tpyed up.. Bascially Canada's bull shit divorce laws need to be redone..

Ya when you take your vows, they are a promis and a contract... You break them and then you get no fault divorce?? bullshit... And ya, in Canada the women clearly has the upper hand in any divorce..

We all know guys who got fucked through divorce..


Last one I knew was a guy my age... He and a women (who had a kid with a previous man) had an oops on their first or second date.. He did the the right thing and married her to be a good dad.. And he legally adpoted her kid she had with another guy... Then about 4 years later she's "not happy"... He did nothing wrong.. gave both kids a great life, camping trips, love etc.. Those kids never went without.. And to be honest, lots would say they were spoiled.. He is a blue collar worker doing 6 days a week 8-10 hour days and making over 200k... She worked a 20 hour a week part time job, but was basically a stay at home mom.. He bought he luxury SUV.. spa days.. vegas... etc.. He never touched drugs, social drinker, not abusive etc.. He's a funny likeable guy..

One day she says "I'm not happy"... And after a year of him trying to work things out they agreed to stay together for the kids..They agree to bascially live together as a family for the sake of the kids until they are older.. That lasted about 6 months before she left.. He begged to try again, counselling etc..

It's unreal what he lost... and what's more unreal is what she gained $$ wise..

And he's on the hook for the adopted kid for another 8 years.. The adopted kid does not even go to his house when its his turn with the kids anymore.. This kid is brain washed by the mom..

My wife and I know both sides of the story since we are all friends for many years..


It's just unreal how much $$ this divorce cost this guy..

She still only has the same part time jobm but lives in a 800K house, has a suburban etc..

My Ex wife started gambling, 16 months later we were in financial disarray and she wouldn't get help. I left her and in the divorce she got $4080 a month and i got all the debt because i was the bread winner, child support was $2200 which I was ok with that was for my kid who eventually moved up with me anyway and spousal was $1880 lol, she destroyed our family and I got stuck with the bill lol. I'm done paying now but it was a hard few years.
 
Im sure some women date or marry guys professionally and make careers out of it. I had an ex gf a long long time ago who always dated older guys I was the first one her age to ever date her. She told me her mom always taught her to find a guy with lots of money and security. She would say it doesnt matter if you love him over time you will get closer. To me thats a toxic nightmare just waiting to happen. Especially once kids are brought into the equation. Women know deep down that most men are vulnerable and have a soft spot for women. Even a weakness for them. I was in and out of some pretty rough lifestyles growing up with lots of partying and lots of substance abuse. The only benefit of that lifestyle if I can even call it that is the wisdom you gain from it. Ive seen the worst of people in all shapes and forms. People just born bad, people who became bad, severely desperate people, mentally unstable people and a lot of them were women. Ive seen what they ate capable of at a young age snd found out early what the red flags are. I feel bad though because a lot if not most of the guys I know dont have that experience and are stuck in dead end relationships. I envy people who were virgins or high school sweet hearts and stayed together but if you ask me most people break before they become strong, or have a big immaturity crisis before becoming mature and if your marriage is your first relationship hopfully the two of you can stand strong through the hard times.

And really the ultimate judge is God. You want to live a life full of sin you’ll have your life review and can answer it to the big man himself.

Tp be honest, I beleive that's how the world worked right up until about 30 years ago... And both sexes knew it.. Weird though, divorce rates were much lower back then even though people married for security more than they married for love...

I believe our instincts actually are programmed this way.. women want to be with a guy who can provide their children with safety and securtity.. And that sadly means $$.. Men marry women who they subtly see as women who can produce healthy children.. Love isn't part of any of this..

This is my belief too, that's what the women wanted and for the large part what they got. In exchange men wanted those healthy kids, sex and some nurturing for themselves and the kids. Generally it worked, those are normally the things we each are best suited for.

Over time the % of people who decided they weren't getting a fair deal and also the % of people who actually aren't pulling their weight increased. Some women want to be provided with more, whether that be "stuff" or freedom of choice and some men want women to do more of the providing. Especially the weak people.

You could call that greed or selfishness I think.
If everybody believed their purpose was to serve I think the world would be a pretty darn trouble free place.
