Shave from a Barber

Well just had my first shave by my barber, and it was amazing just like in the movies.
Best 20 dollars spend, and my face was soft like a bald pussy.
Hope no lady members read this.
I had on once. Just was not for me. Was nice but took way to long. And the lady shaving me had cloths on.
Also few times had my goatee trimmed. That was nice but hated spending the money. So I then bought good shaver and now do it myself.
guys... I've said this to many many people.. Learn to shave the old way and you'll never go back.
double edge safety razor (high quality one)
badger hair brush
pre shave oil (art of shaving has the best pre shave oil)
real shaving cream/soap (high quality.... the lowest quality I'll use is the "art of shaving" one)
alcohol free after shave (high quality... truefitt and hill is the best I've found, but "art of shaving" is good too).
I have thick coarse beard and I get neck razor burn easy.. I hated shaving until I went this way and now its something I look forward too.

Well my barber has been cutting hair for 45 year. Next year he is going part time.
He told me when he first did shaving he cut a guy lots.
Oh ya very nice to get pampered.
Everyone was looking and joking like cut the guys throat and bleed....to many mob movies.
I go about once a month and get a hot towel shave and hair cut. Great bit of pampering. It is a bit pricey though.
true, I pay $50 just for the damn shave LOL...its completely worth it though the way I see it
I’ve never had that. About 10 years ago the girl that used to cut my hair was about 23 and she was trained in that, she was always sayin I should do it, I never took her up on the offer.
A part of me was thinking that if I do I’d want some guy that had been doing it his whole life not some teenybopper. No disrespect to her, she was a sweet girl but I’d want years of experience if you know what I mean.

I tried that on my head and only got gashes.

I tried it once on my head and got gashes all over... For my head, Mach 3,4 or 5 in the shower no shaving cream needed.
LOL! There was blood everywhere. Lots of blood flow to the head.
Maybe I will get one for my face and try to be like my Father.
I only shave with double or straight razor, I have some of the old school Japanese blades, best shave ever.. takes some prep but well worth the shave. First few weeks you will look like a cat clawed your face, once you learn it, you will never shave normal again.
On my recent trip to Africa I got to experience a hot shave with the slap massage, if you don’t know what that is, YouTube it. Best 10$ I have ever spent in my life.
