Quitting smoking

If you go into a pharmacy and say your trying to quit smoking, you get 3 months of nicotine gum for free

The taxes you've paid on smokes for however long youve been smoking, take it. Its not a freebie from the government, you've paid easily 200x what they're giving you in nicotine gum on darts already.
i grabbed a pack of the 4mg gum and that shits stronger than smoking i almost puked at work. no shot anything above the 2mg works for quitting

Day 2. Just woke up and actually don’t feel too bad. Went to bed really early last night so I guess it’s a super early training session this morning lol.

Don’t see the big deal, after having smoked for 45 years and 22 attempts at quitting I finally did, easy peasy 🤣

My wife was always about the health aspect, even full on smoking there wasn’t a single person that could out walk/climb/hike me I had crazy lungs. I used to tell her the day she passes me on a hike I’ll quit. Just to piss her off id have a smoke hanging out of my mouth while hiking. So the health part was a meh for me.

@flexappeal nailed it, “I really should quit” never worked, it was the day I said “I’ve had it” is when I never looked back.

Funny you say that with the smoke hanging out of your mouth my girl would say the same. It became a habit while swinging 100 lbs jacklegs around underground or pretty much anything I’d be doing to have a smoke hanging from my mouth. As long as there wasn’t any supervisors around because you know. Smoking underground is illegal lol.

Bigbear. Yeah I’ve quit a several times for up to 3-4 months at a time in my lifetime, don’t ask why I started again. Because I’m stupid is all I could really think of. But yea I smoke on cycle. But this is day 2 of never again right? Lol

Thanks for the advice I’ll look it, never heard of this. Thinking more cold turkey but if I can’t I’ll do what ever it takes. Found this thing called the CBQ method online that sounded interesting so going to attend their free webinar tomorrow and see what that’s all about
I took a quick look at the program, and it looks pretty good. I wish you luck and perseverance in whatever path you choose.

Allen Carrs book,
"The easy way to quit smoking"

Youre just supposed to read the book while you're quitting and it helps to create and maintain the mindset of being a non-smoker. It sounded similar to self hypnosis or intention setting when it was described to me.
Anyway, I've heard a few testimonials for it from people I know who quit cold turkey with this book.
Good luck

I used a vape for 1 month. Made it a little easier. Could just take that edge off when irritating things were about to have me pop off at inconvenient times.
Then when my 30 days rolled around I still kinda struggled with the "loss" of vaping but after 3 days it really wasnt so bad.
Best of luck.

Thanks I’m just f@kin doing it lol. No nicotine products no crutches just get it over with. The morning wasn’t bad. Took a nap. Kind of getting cranky now but hey it’s just day 2. Going to go get my 5th meal in and then take a few melatonin pills and try and call it an early night

I smoked a whole bunch of cigarettes and a couple of cigars one NYE. I felt like a piece of dogshit that had been stepped in a few times the next day so, I decided I was done with it and haven’t smoked since.

Still smoke the occasional cigar but always careful not to have just one dart.

Yep, that’s the way to do it, sleep it off.

As I said with the crankiness, just laugh it off, think of how fuzzy you feel and awkward and laugh at yourself.

Switching to a vape helped me replace the hand-to-mouth habit. For heavier cravings, I personally use THC VAPES to unwind in the evenings – they feel cleaner than smoking. Just check local rules first. Stick with your mindset, it gets easier.

How you doing with the quitting. I stopped in January and haven't touched anything with nicotine since. I get the odd craving, but i will never do it again, I don't feel like going thru withdrawl again.

Those you great. At least you are not screwing your lungs with those.

Truth be told, I didn’t get more energy, or anything like that from quitting.
I don’t think it even helped to speed the healing of my shoulder getting rid of nicotine. So quit the mints when you get around to it.
I toughed it out after Christmas holidays. I mainly quit to speed my shoulder healing. Shoulder is still pretty fucked up.

My shoulder is stronger, but I still have an impingement when I lift my arm up.

That sucks man. Your shoulders bern messed up for a long time

My wife and I had a lazer treatment to help quit .. and although we were both skeptical it actually works .. threw what smokes we had left out once we left the building and haven't smoked now for 4 years .. with no real changes to life routines .

Is it your left shoulder? And your right handed?
That's my story. Yeah it's shitty.

Quit cold turkey about 10 years ago, smoked most of my life, yes thing I've ever done for my health was quit. I get a craving every now and then, but I also don't drink alcohol anymore so that also helps, and I stopped drinking Tim Horton's xD Morning ritual after pee used to be a large Double Double and a smoke :ROFLMAO:
