Cause legitimate gun owners are an easy target that the government can easily demonstrate to the left side of the public that they are being tough on guns.
Even though it probably won’t reap one bit of gain for public safety...... ahhhh fuck here comes a rant.......
Does the US have to reign in their gun policies? Maybe. I don’t live there so I can’t truly say. It certainly would look that way from what we get shown via the media outlets. Far too many mass shootings down there.
Do we have the problems here that the US does? No. So why continue to crack down on the guy that already plays by all the rules? IDK. It would make sense to me that the folks that get caught with illegal guns or do violent crimes with guns be the ones that get punished severely to serve as a deterrent.
Here where I live 3 men were just charged with Human trafficking a young woman who they took from the hospital and spent the next few days beating and raping her and selling her for via internet ads. This allegedly happened in multiple random hotel rooms around the city. Somehow she escaped them and was found by police . The three males were arrested and were later released on a promise to appear for their court dates. They will probably receive little if any jail time if they don’t already have any previous record of violent crime. Regardless they are out walking around without conditions waiting for their trial to begin.
What the fuck is wrong with this picture folks?
So the government says I shouldnt have a handgun to let off some steam with my buddies at my local gun club but kidnaping a young woman and raping and beating her repeatedly and forcing her to have sex for money is pretty much ok.
Just more smoke, mirrors and bullshit if you ask me.
You hit the nail on the head... Canada does NOT have a gun violence problem. The stats just don't support the idea that we need more gun control.
Your right in that its just a smoke show to say the fed's are doing something about crime... That's all this bs is.
I agree, I don't live in the US, but it seems like they might bring the gun death number down with some more gun control.
if you want my honest opion of how society is now in the state that it is...
First issue
The whole notion and ides of a family has fallen apart. There just isn't very any good familes out there anymore. The kids that come from these broken familes, broken homes, neglect etc are just not mentally healthy individuals.
I am a firm believer in maslow's heirarchy of needs theory. The typical north amercian family does not meet these needs anymore. If those needs aren't meet, its extremly difficultly to grow, develope and mature properly.
And its a cycle.. You come from a home that didn't meet those needs, you just don't develope into an adult that can easily provide those needs for your kids... and the cycle continues.
I am NOT saying it's impossible to raise a good family when mom and dad seperate. I'm NOT saying its impossible to grow up a successful and caring adult if you came from a home that did not provide love, food, shelter, etc..
Kids are truly being raised without love, care and compassion these days.
The second issue is screen time.. Research is starting to show the human brain doesn't not properly devleope from infancy to adult if it is exposed to too much video games, computers etc.. Kids brains are simply not being wired right anymore..
Third issue..
The way our world has now evolved is not what humans are adapted too. As the world becomes faster, schools become too forceful with academics, parents are too busy to be at home with kids, kids spend more time away from home during the day because everyone works, no one cooks/cleans/gardens/learns to fix things..... Life is focused on obtaining enough money to have more possessions.. life has become very complex and very driven to succeed and very driven to own more.
Before 1990 dad worked and made enough to own a simple home, a car, a family vacation once a year, moderate clothes/possessions etc.. families played board games.. familes watched TV together, mom cooked/baked, dad did the yard work.. life was simple.. the family values were different. No one shot up schools, no one was commiting suicide every second day...
Take a look further back in time..
When people living in 1 and 2 room houses that were hand built, when people HAD to garden, familes had to hunt/fish for food, families had to sew their own clothes, you owned maybe 2 sets of cloths and one pair of shoes.. Back then there was different priorities.. Different values.. It was a time of sink or swim.. It was a time of being with your family, helping your family etc..
Fourth issue
social media.... I can't even get my mind around how much social media has changed the world for the worse. I sincerly think giving everyone a way to have the whole world "look at me!!!" has destroyed us. It's made us self centered.. Its made us feel like we never have enough, never good looking enough, never making enough money.... We are just simply never content with ourselves anymore and we can't handle that.
Bottom line for me is the reasons behind the way our world is going just seem to be getting worse.
