Olive oil

Google it yourself bro, it been like that for like 2 thousand years....you cant get better!!

With how expensive olive oil has gotten recently, I can only imagine that it will be adulterated even more that it ever has.

The fridge test can work (to a degree) however there lots of things, cheap things that aren't so good for you, that can be added to make it solidify in the fridge. This renders such a test pretty much useless.

Working from memory ( so don't quote me). It's the polyunsaturated fats and waxes from the olives that help it solidify in cold temps.

Like all things, be as informed as you can be and buy reputable brands that provide sone transparency in their purchasing and processing.

In the end though, again like almost everything these days, who knows what you're actually getting unless you do it yourself.

Maybe @Taureau can change his name to Stavros and plant some olive trees on the homestead? Gotta be less dangerous that bees, no?

We should be aware of the fake honey issue as well. If you're out for the purported health benefits of honey, then have a look at the various brands that are known for being faked or diluted with HFCS etc in Canada. There have been a number of investigations on it over the years, so there's lists out there if you're buying and looking for purity.

When I type in "healthiest olive oil" I get lots of results, but not Kalamata.. Not doubting you, but just googling..

Polyphenols are the good stuff in Olive oil so If I google "is kalamata olive oil high in polyphenols", I get info saying it's the highest (up to 10x) amout of polyphenols you can get

So wife bought a glass bottle of "Terra Delyssa' extra virgin/ 1st press etc.. I put it in the fridge for a day and it came out cloudy, a bit thicket and some floating solids.. A bit more cloudy and a bit more floating solids than the kirkland..

Neither the Terra Delyaa or kirkland stuff solidified like this article saya it should

I know stuff can be added to help solifiy in fridge etc.. but neither brand I have thrown in the fridge solidified

testosterone propionate from Europe was often manufactured with olive oil as the carrier agent, and EVERY ampule had to be warmed in water to decrystalize/de-flake the oil before it would flow well out of a shot without clogging the needle
