If that was the case, why aren't you still responding? Lots of guys here are taking close to what your off period is and are still making progress. 250 mg of test was my first cycle, no way was that like being natural. As far as how you feel, gear has an effect on the brain and mood regulating hormones, it's going to take time to find a new "normal" after being exposed to super high levels of anabolics.
Once the receptors are populated the only way to restore sensitivity is to starve them of androgens or return to a "normal" amount of testosterone, though I do think starving them is superior. Insulin works like this too, eat too many carbs? You get insulin resistant, fat and you need to reduce carbs or even go no carbs to restore sensitivity. Smoke weed? You need more to get the same high. Antibiotics for too long? You get resistant. I think you get my point by now. There has been a lot of parroting of information from people that are blasting and cruising(not true trt), essentially addicts, as a way to justify staying on that just simply isn't true.
Without getting into too much detail, I have been completely off for about 6 months now. There was a period of time where I was off for maybe 3.5 months and I took just 1cc of test c and in few days I kid you not I looked like I took a gram and added 40lbs to my hack squat. That's the power of coming completely off. Obviously that is anecdotal.
If you're interested in reading how this works I suggest reading the article below. Its quite in depth and has lots of studies cited to boot.
