So I ordered this along with some eq couple weeks ago popped the top off of the EQ. No problem went to do it with the NPP today and the head just popped off like it was an ampule. I didn’t lose any of the medication and put it back on quickly, but it was open for a brief second is this safe to inject still and can I just try to re-crimp it with a flathead screwdriver or do I need to buy more?

Contact your Syn rep and explain the situation, I've read about that happening to a few people before and they replace the vial, no hassle.

Yeah, I’ll probably do that but if they tell me to get bent, am I still able to inject this? I very quickly put it back on and re-crimp it with a flathead.

If your representative would tell you to get bent over this then find a new representative.

Is it safe to use? Probably given as you said it was only exposed to air for seconds and granted your in a relatively clean environment. Should you be stuck with it if you have concerns? No. At the very least you should receive a credit back for the vial if you’re uncomfortable using it.

That rubber stopper must be in mighty tight. These things can happen. When you are doing 50 vial batches say it is easy to forget to double crimp one or even forget to crimp it period. There are rows and rows of vials and if that aluminum was pressed down fully it could be missed when it comes to crimping time. Rare but could happen.

It didn't leak out so the rubber was a nice tight fit. Sounds like you gave them a tug, if so then all should be well even if you accidentally pulled out the rubber stopper. Takes a bit of force to pop an ampule, a low pressure crimp is more than enough to keep it where it is supposed to be and pulling on it sure it will pop off. I can go upstairs and yank on tops of vials and yea there might be some popping off. There is alcohol in there and more than enough to take up potential issues. I inject air into the vial then contents out so it's the same air going in as if I pulled the rubber stopper off and put it back on. Fine to use. Keep upright in a drawer and don't move it around a lot.

Knowing syn, I highly highly doubt this would ever happen.

If I was you I would still pin that, though.

Garbage, don't use it.

Honestly a great point.

If it were me and the rubber stopper didn't come right out and I pushed it back down right away, id just grab a spoon and push the bottom of the crimps in so the lid sits tighter and isn't going to pop off again... and I wouldn't be worried about using it.

If rubber stopper fell out onto my counter or the floor, different story.
