Life's simple pleasures

Life tends to be all consuming sometimes and I am very guilty of not stopping and smelling the roses so to speak. It’s is something I am working on so I do have something profound I can contribute to this thread.

Our kids moved in upstairs about a year ago in the main house and my wife and I are downstairs in the suite. The Grandkids bedrooms are right above us. Listening to them playing and talking gives me the most profound sense of contentment and happiness.

Being in the outdoors. I have spent almost 30 years stuck in an office when I get away to the lake on the weekends and get out in the fresh air I instantly feel better. The lack of city noise is also a major bonus.

-talking with my kids about real world stuff. They make me so proud with their outlook and ethic.
-Bathtub drinks with my wife. It’s our time to relax and enjoy each other’s company

-This song, I don’t know what it is but the happiest I can feel inside is when I’m listening to this. I can’t explain it and my wife thinks I’m retarded lol. It’s way before my time.

Otis Redding had lots of great songs. Try a little tenderness with the horns is a beauty.

Getting up at 5 for 530am morning workouts. Even if I have to force it. I really love being alone, and this is the only time I ever get to myself.

My kids, but for very brief moments, like the duration of a lightning flash ... its usually total khaos.

morning coffee, being isolated in nature, having a beer on a hot summer day with the wife, watching the kids open presents on christmas, having your 3 year old able express with words how much they love you, long weekends, ice cream cone on a hot summer day, fishing at sunset in the summer, waking up in the morning when your camping, morning camp coffee, after dinner camp coffee, falling asleep under the stars, waking up before the rest of the world does and having it to yourself, a drunk horny wife..

Having the cats run to greet me when I get home from work just makes me smile. Also, when I'm laying awake at night stressing over things (currently my dad's health being No. 1) and one of the cats snuggles up as close as she can to me and starts purring to lull me to sleep. Somehow she knows when I really need that extra comfort. So, I guess I'm saying cats top my list of life's simple pleasures.

Mine is so simple right now. I just like having a few days without colon pain. Every bathroom break number one or two hurts and is a constant reminder. So when I get a few days in a row without pain, I’m a happy guy.
Hanging with my family and when I accomplish something new.

Time just hanging out with my 19 year old son, he's sooo funny and fun to be with, watching the sun come up with a coffee on the end of a dock fishing, quiet evenings on the porch bbqing with the wife, and cashing in poker tournaments.
