You can ask for a cystatin C test, but lots of nephrologists don't do it. If you are worried, ask for a 24-hour urinalysis because it considers your weight when calculating your eGFR.

recently had some bloodwork and my egfr was 71. Creatnine was 119.

My levels have always been kind of low ish? In the 70s .

Doctor did not have a concern. I mentioned I do pee quite a bit and at night, prostate check was fine.

Body weight currently 236lb body fat around 14% have top 4 abs in the morning, been training 15+ years, age 40.

a friend of mine who is a smoker and overweight has a perfect egfr of 100 points! How!?

egfr is really just estimated number based on creatinine and ur age/sex/race/weight, so its probably your creatinine levels causing a lower estimated egfr
