Help - Large, swollen lymph nodes

Guys, I would appreciate some help and feedback. I’m wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before.

I am 29 years old and otherwise healthy. I have been using anabolic steroids for about a year and a half now, sourcing them from various Canadian labs.

I have been getting all these tests at the hospital because I have large, swollen lymph nodes on both sides of my groin, and a couple in my armpits.

Luckily it doesn’t look like lymphoma based on the tests so far - so the only other thing I can think of is that it’s somehow related to my anabolic steroid use. Either my body is reacting to the oil, impurities, additives etc OR I have gotten infections from the shots themselves.

Has anyone else experienced this problem; or know of someone who has???

Do you do blood tests for lymphocytes, cytokines, white blood cells, urine tests etc what did they test you for so far?

How many month have your lymph nodes been swollen or is this just recent?
You have stopped the steroids all together or are you still on cycle?

All I know is that so far my blood test appeared “normal”, and that the flow cytometric analysis seemed to show that it was reactive rather than lymphoma. My liver is slightly enlarged, but that’s not surprising for me as I’m also a recovered substance abuser. I don’t know exactly how long I’ve had the nodes like this, but I would say at least 2 months. The main ones on both sides of my groin have definitely increased in size, where they are now considered very large (4.1cm width).

I’ve seen a couple cases online that were similar, where it was a reaction to the injections - but I’m not sure why it happened to me and not others.

What steroids, HGH, Peptides are you taking at this moment? What are the amounts last taken with each of these? Do they have COA's?

You have to remember, I’m relatively new to anabolic steroids (1.5yrs), and my nodes have been enlarged for at least a couple months - so in that timeframe I’ve taken a few different compounds, but nothing crazy. Based on what I’ve read, it’s less to do with the actual substance itself - but more so either an infection, or reaction to the stuff that it’s made with (oils, impurities etc.) I could be wrong - but the case studies I saw highlighted that.

Currently, I take approx. 500mg test per week and 12.5mg trestolone per day. I was taking HGH (4iu per day) but have stopped. Occasionally I will take PT-141.

Are you having significant swelling or pain at injection sites?

I assume you have stopped everything? No amount of muscle is worth your health. I would stop everything to rule everything out.
You don't have to put the lab/where you obtained the products in a post as there is no proof that is the problem, and you don't want to crap on a lab without any evidence. I am curious which lab you are using, if you want to send it to me in PM. I am staff here and you can ask any member here if they have ever heard me repeat anything I said I would not. I can recall things from 5 years ago, but it is not bad - just recall a member who gave someone shit because the new guy was a troll, wish I couldn't - it is not a gift to have good recall other than for getting good grades.

I am sure the doctor told you this can be caused by infection (if your white blood cell count is high and each particular blood cell helps determine if it is viral, bacterial, or parasitic, or injuries, or abnormal cells. If your lymph nodes are that large, I assume the doctor has set you up for a biopsy? I hope you asked for a copy of all reports. If you didn't, get them as multiple doctors have told me my blood work is normal, and it isn't f'n close to normal. I had a white blood cell count through the roof, high CRP, and an ER doctor told me I did not have any disease known to man. I shit you not - will never forget that doctor's words. Point is I was so sick, I went from this Province to multiple doctors in NB, then to Quebec, referred to NS, and worked with an infectious disease doctor when my normal blood work was noted as normal originally, but every specialist said the exact opposite. That is when I started reading medical books people take for a medical degree as I lost trust in the medical system.

It is not impossible, but it would have to be a serious allergic reaction to have a lymph node reaction like you are having.
Again, assumption but I hope your GP has referred you to an internal specialist who is sort of a more knowledgeable/educated doctor who can diagnose and get you to the right specialist.

1. Are the nodes sore to the touch?
2. flow cytometric analysis - reactive to what is the question? I know this usually means benign, not cancer, and possibly an inflammatory response to something, but really doesn't help diagnose what the trigger is.

I would stop the google self diagnosis as you will scare the shit out of yourself, and stop taking everything. See what happens and I assume if you were at the hospital they have referred you as an urgent case with large / multiple lymph nodes to a specialist to look after your care. I am not a doctor, don't give out medical advice as it is pretty much useless if I can't see the lab reports and even then most docs have forgot more than I know.

Do you take any supplements as some supplements can have reactions just like drugs and send a small % of the population's system haywire.

I wish you the best luck, and if you wish to PM I will tell you what I know, but it is not medical advice as I have no letters at the end of my name for medicine.

I don't know if this will help but it can't hurt to look into it. Pascoe lymphdiaral drainage cream. It should help you with the swelling and pain but will not treat any underlying conditions you may have. It's a homeopathy remedy. It can be applied to the affected area. Confirm with a health practitioner first though

Just to be clear, you suspect that your use of hormones is causing your health issues, and you are continuing the use of these thing that you believe may be making you sick?
I hope I am reading that wrong.

Thanks for the support and advice guys - it’s super cool to be part of a caring community like this.

So this is the update: Got a call today from the doctor who is sort of overseeing everything on a higher level: there is no sign of cancer or virus, and no STD’s. I am going to see the specialist next week, but his hypothesis (based on all my results of everything so far) is that it’s forsure related to the anabolic steroid injections, and possibly peptides as well. It seems as though my lymph nodes are reacting to certain contents of the fluid, whether that’s the actual compound or the oil or whatever is unknown at this point.

Please be more careful than me guys and make sure you’re inspecting the lymph node areas every so often to feel for inflammation, before it gets out of hand like mine did.

Mind have always stuck out a bit. When I was a kid the ones in my neck you could feel them like round little marbles. Got lots of blood taken to find out what it was and no one had an idea.

The ones in my groin I can always feel, been like that for decades. Sometimes they get bigger, sometimes smaller. Truthfully I never think about it anymore until I read your thread, then I started checking them out again. Now I gotta break myself of that habit again, lol.

Just call the @The Old Guy for lymph node checking in your groin. He has a crush on you lol.

Thanks for the update. Hope they get it figured out and nothing major👍👍

Have you stopped everything? Has it gotten any better?

My advice, go to the biggest hospital you can, get referred to their specialist for whatever issue you have. On multiple occasions with close family members and myself we first saw a doctor at a local hospital, the typical response was "lets just get blood work/ imaging, wait and see, if it doesn't get worse then its fine"

After a while it felt a bit redundant like sure it's not getting much worse but it's not a good situation and nothing is being done, eventually somethings going to give.

I asked to see a specialist at Toronto General, it was much more pro-active treatment, given multiple options to either monitor or aggressive treatment. I choose the latter and so did other family members, I don't think I'd be alive if I didn't make that decision.

It might not be anything, but even something like biopsies / any sort of invasive diagnostic / treatments are usually discouraged at local hospitals but are easily done at bigger ones. It's better to be safe than sorry and with all the taxes we pay it's worth it to go to the best hospital you can and get all the testing done you need to make an informed decision and make sure you're healthy.
