Gym pet peeves

The guy did the same shit yesterday.... I'm trying to attach photos but it's too large.

I'll find a way.

He brings a jacket, a shaker bottle or 2, his towel, and a Micky mouse gym bag no word of a lie.

He leaves the bag and jacket on one machine, and he take his towel and bottles and puts them on the machine next his other stuff, so it looks like 2 machines are being used.

(Why not just move all your stuff next to "1" machine.....)

Anyway, a younger girl asked me if I was using the hack squat (I was using the row machine)... Literally when she asked me, I said it "it belongs to that guy, but dw, go ahead and use it"

But the sad part is, he left his jacket and bag, right next to where u need to rerack the weights (so if you push it, you may accidentally damage his jacket or bag or belongings or whatever) not even on the floor, but obstructing the rack.

Then, he goes about his entire workout hoping from machine to machine, but still leaves his Micky mouse bag and jacket near the hack squat.

I noticed a couple wanting to use the hack squat, but they stood there for 4 minutes (like i did a long time ago) and just looked around.

I literally told them too, go ahead and use it.

I literally went to the reception and told them, if they could tell the said individual to please just take his Micky mouse bag and jacket every machine he goes to because ain't nobody got time.

The gym sales associate said "oh that guy, he punked me last time when I tried to tell him"... (So it's not just me he has this obnoxious attitude of entitlement).

I didnt want him to flip out on the young girl or couple so that's why I took it upon myself to just let reception know because you never know with that guy, but if the sales associate said he had a negative interaction with him, he probably has a lot of issues outside the gym.View attachment 109277
i’d put it in the trash and see what he does/if he finds it lol.

Don't understand not listening to a polite person who works there. If the guy was rude to someone who has the authority to revoke their membership, something is off. Maybe one mulligan, but if it is a complaint by other members too - it is a problem and the guy needs to have respect for other members.

I can't help but watch the vids of ego lifters who hog all the plates and have one or two inch range of motion, all body language to move something, or yell and scream when barely moving weight. I almost made a post the other day about one gent, but the better part of me said maybe he has mental issues. Nope, don't think he does, just wants attention.

I try not to judge, but this was a site. He comes in with his baggy jeans falling half way down his ass and he has zero physique so his underwear are falling down and every time he bends over it is plumbers crack day lol. Wears a wife beater and a huge gold chain and his backwards baseball cap. Anyway - each to their own. To make it interesting, be only trains arms and after each set, finds the closest mirror and flexes his biceps and triceps and at the same time tells the mirror off like it is another person. Not screaming but telling the mirror off. I thought he was just singing until I was beside him. He needs to talk to someone regarding technique as I haven't seen him do one exercise when we are close to each other with proper form. Yesterday he was doing 'heavy' hammer curls with 40lbs DB's and he could curls them an inch or two but really just swung his upper torso back and forth. It was a sight to see - as he was grunting like he was a power lifter setting a PR.
I think it is great that people of all sizes go to the gym as we all started somewhere, but he acts like we should all be impressed and no one would look at him and think he trains.
Same time we had the Asian man that doesn't understand range of motion and yells each time he does a rep as he is using a lot of weight. Almost the entire rack doing pull downs. He sets the seat so it won't hold him and the weight is much more than he weighs. It really is a sight to see, asks if I would help push the first one down - sure. I do and he follows with a set of a two inch range of motion moving his arms a few inches, but really it is just his body lifting up and down so it appears the bar moves, since the seat is set wrong. you can't miss him even if you want to as he grunts loudly with every rep.
Funny faces, some grunting, banging for the guys who lift heavy - normal, but these guys need to hire one of the trainers or talk to the guys who are doing the same exercises properly. We now have the internet, so there is no excuse - want to grow and get stronger, full range of motion, TUT, proper technique and forget the weight as it will come.
I don't like to laugh at people, but these guys have the entire gym turning around thinking someone is getting injured and forgot to ask for a spot.

I'm thinking the skinny dude telling the mirror off has been bullied lots and is trying to workout and get tougher so it won't happen anymore. But his attire isn't helping him any, even though he thinks it makes him look tough.

last few posts covered it already but I came in to raise the point that we all need to remember that there are some mentally messed up folks at the the gym, as their are everywhere. Often the ones at the gym have anger and other dangerous issues. This ain't a dad moment from me either, I'm not telling anyone what to do but the other thing I'll remind yall of is that we often put ourselves in physically vulnerable positions in the gym so probably not a good place to have unstable enemies. Plus folks who outwardly appear normal can be just as nuts as those who don't.

PS Not saying I haven't had an incident or two in the gym myself, can't tell them stories here though.

Shit, I guess it was a Dad moment ;)
