GLP-1s for Addiction: Are We There Yet?
The same drugs that transformed obesity treatment are now being investigated for substance use disorders, fueling interest in a new approach to addiction treatment.
Interesting article - I am saying people should do this but I found this article interesting and that doctors are already using these off label for addiction.
Sharing it as it is an interesting read and the potential usage 'off label' for what these medications were developed for, will most likely be rampant.
If it controls your impulse for food, it could for other things as well.
I have not noticed any changes in desire for anything I enjoy but I don't drink (to any extent) or do rec drugs. I am trying Reta to see how it works, at a low dosage, for fatty liver, and once I have my ultrasound they can compare it to the last one.
I get one once a year paid by the medical system as a virus attacked my liver (mono) and did permanent damage which has healed but my last ultrasound showed mild fatty infiltration. I paid for my last one, for other reasons, but they looked at my liver as well so the radiologist will compare it to the one that was ordered over 6 months ago.
Once I have the results, I will post my findings.
Just food for thought.
