First Cycle - Sub-Q Daily vs IM 2x/week?

Hello Friends et al,

I’m still planning my first cycle, and hopefully not over-thinking it too much.

But I’m excited - Can you blame me?!

Currently weighing out daily subQ shots vs 2x a week IM injections, both totaling 250mg a week.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with both methods?

If it’s the same thing, and Test E flows smoothly through a 30G needle - I think I prefer subQ since I’m already on Reta now and it’s easy peasy.

Thoughts?

There’s a lot of bro science out there saying you only need testosterone injections twice a week. That works for some people—but it’s not the full picture.

The reality is that compounds like Testosterone cypionate and Testosterone enanthate don’t stay perfectly stable in the body. Larger, less frequent injections can create noticeable peaks and dips in hormone levels. That can lead to fluctuations in mood, energy, and even estrogen conversion.

Smaller, more frequent injections—like every other day or daily—can help keep levels more stable. For many people, that means smoother energy, more consistent mood, and fewer side effects tied to hormone swings.

That said, more frequent dosing isn’t “better” for everyone. Twice-a-week protocols are simpler and work perfectly well for a lot of people. The key is finding what keeps your levels stable and how your body responds—not blindly following one approach.

Bottom line: it’s not about what’s popular—it’s about what actually works for your physiology.

My protocol right now is:

75 mg per day: Test E
50 mg per day: Deca

Honestly I feel so much better. I will be sticking to daily injects moving forward for sure.

Appreciate the feedback - makes total sense

are you doing subQ?

Curious if Test E flows smoothly through an insulin needle.

Nah I’m doing IM.

Test E still flows fine through a slin pin—it’s a bit slower because of the oil, but nothing difficult. I’ve never had any issues with it.

Just going to chime in, I’ve done daily (macro) dosing and split 2 times a week and the difference was honestly negligible. And when your pinning lots of oil or are new to pinning, every day gets tiring

Sub q is fine to be honest. Textbook method is intramuscular but I’d suggest your next cycle you pin mostly intramuscular. I do sub q for short esters so they relase a little slower. I’ve done up to 3cc subq which I would never recommend. Hospital will do up to 5cc but im sure that would be pretty painful, lump up real bad and leave major scarring overtime

I prefer im. U can shoot way more oil and it hurts less if you don’t have terrible gear brewed in someone’s toilet. Intucular Inst that scary man . Some pros are pinning like 50cc a week. Mind you they are bigger but still. 2cc a week is lightwork
