I had the privilege of grappling with Nate a few times...tons of energy, real nice kid actually.
@Oldguyjiujitsu that's seriously BOSS that you got to grapple with him. i like the kid because what you see is what you get, or so it appears.
Ya it was fun...i was surprised but he was not rough at all. We sparred a 10 minute round...he had cardio for days. He came up in a tough neighbourhood and did not have the best support system so a little rough around the edges but a genuinely nice kid.
My coach now lives in San Diego so when visiting have gotten to train with a few really cool people over the years.

MMA honestly I like Nate Diaz just because of his attitude
You know who’s actually an absolutely insane martial artist though is Michael Jai white that guy is the real deal if he had gone into MMA instead of acting I think he would have been a world champion

As you can tell im a fan of kickboxing. Both kicking and boxing lol. I do like judo and sambo aswell but dont have specific people i admir, just the arts in general. I know Tyson takes a lot of heat about whether he should be considered such a great fighter but i was a kid at the time of his reign and he was the man. Im no boxing specialist so technically speaking i wouldnt know, but his technique was extremely direct and effective. I like that in any martial art.

Cain Valasquez before he got injured, Fedor - sin he never fought in the UFC and I think Cain Valasquez would have wiped the floor with him like he did with Junior Dos Santos but Fedor always found a way to win, Bas Ruten, Jon Jones when he was young and hungry - most talented and genetically gifted man I can think of, Chuck Liddell before he got a glass jaw. If I could add another it would probably be Khabib Nurmagomedov.
There are so many I enjoyed but those guys stand out.
Cain Valasquez was a beast and prior to his injuries no one could touch him, he man handled Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos. His wrestling and punching combos were amazing.

It was like Cain aged 20 year over night after he got injured, great fighter for sure.
I know - he was built to be a perfect wrestler with shorter legs and a long strong upper body but not all bulked up. He also did everything perfect - punches thrown like he was jabbing but knocking out tough guys with pure form. He absolutely destroyed Junior Dos Santos in his prime and I don't think anyone would have ever touched him if he didn't get hurt until he retired. Sin - loved watch him fight as he stuck to you like Khabib but could box and threw guys 30 lbs heavier around like rag dolls. The sport was made for him - injuries suck brother.
