This is just an informative/rant thread but anything coq10 related can be posted.
To start ill say that this is probably one of the best supplements you can take for heart health and energy. Since ive been taking it my lipids have always been good. Its funny because its so good for your heart but they say statins reduce your natural coq10 levels and that you need to supplement it. Which is weird because I think if people supplemented it alone itd probably do just as good. The rant part of this is the dam cost of it. You know if they charge that much that people will pay it. People will pay it because it works. I dont think ive ever seen any supplement that costs this much.

Ubiquinol is the active, reduced form of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). It is a natural substance made in the body that helps create cellular energy (ATP) inside your mitochondria and acts as a powerful antioxidant protecting cells from damage. Unlike standard CoQ10 (ubiquinone), ubiquinol is already converted and ready for the body to use.

You can get 200mg Ubiquinol in Canada for half that price. As long as it has the KanekaQ logo like the one in your pic it's gtg imo. Natural Factors, Bioclinic Naturals also has 200mg KanekaQ.

Co q 10 is natural and called ubiquinone and the active form it is called ubiquinol. If you're under 40 you can get away with the natural version. If you're on statins or over 40 then Ubiquinol is the way to go. Just make sure it has the Qankea Q logo. I believe it's sources from Japan but don't quote me on that 😂 the one in @Bigbear pic has the logo on it so it's gtg.

what’s the difference between this and coq10? Is it better to take this one?
@strongmann already commented, but to add to the question and the post started by @Bigbear - Ubiquinol is Q10 (ubiquinone) in the active antioxidant form that does not require conversion by your body. I concur from everything I read, if under 40 Q10 is supposed to be as effective but if over 40, which I am now, Ubiquinol is a better choice.
When my BP increased by approximately 10 points - both systolic and diastolic and I knew why, I did an experiment with Q10 by itself, Ubiquinol by itself and then a combination of the two. This is not a double blind placebo study and is not scientific but there is no question the combination with a lower dose of both helped lower by BP the most.
I recall @3ml asking years ago, why don't people use both when this topic came up regarding supplements. Correct me if I am wrong 3ML, but I am 99% sure you asked why not considering it, is less expensive and may be as effective.
That is my experience with the coenzyme but does not mean it will be the same for you.
I try to get a decent amount from diet eating fresh salmon twice a week, taking quality fish oil, and nuts and seeds are a regular part of my diet. One of my meals includes my favourite nut and my smoothie has 1 or 2 tablespoons of milled seeds. I don't eat a lot of organ meats but do eat liver periodically.
A good supplement, thanks for starting this thread Bigbear.

I take 200mg ubiquinol per day. Plus i also eat salmon twice per week and take Carlson’s fish oil. As I’m 55 and had read that the ubiquinol is more beneficial for people over 40 I’ve never tried taking a mix.

I have never “noticed” it do anything, but I do take it as insurance as I am on a statin. I’ve never had an issue, so I don’t mess with it.

I'm at 200mg atm. I take it at night with my statins. I wanna try doing 400mg. so 200mg before workout am and at night before bed.

come to think of it, I think I am actually on 400mg.. I take it with dinner... not sure if timing matters for when you take it
Well they say that taking it in the morning or afternoon is best. They say it can cause mild restlessness or sleep disruption if taken at night. Personally I can sleep through anything 😂 so doesn't affect me. You should also take it with a meal that has fats cuz it's fat soluble and will help with absorption.

I'm going to try 200 CoQ10 and 200 ubiquinol..
