Notice of delivery delays due to large volumes and safety measures
We are advising Canadians across the country to expect delays with their parcel deliveries due to Christmas-level volumes we’re experiencing and important safety measures we’ve taken to protect our people. We recognize this has an impact on your business and your customers, so we want to keep you informed and also explain the reasons for these delays.
Canadians are shopping more online while they’re isolating at home, which means we’re processing and delivering parcels at levels only experienced during the busiest weeks of the Christmas season. The large volumes and additional safety measures for our employees – including physical distancing inside facilities that were never designed for keeping people two metres apart – mean it is taking longer to process parcels. We are working hard to serve our customers while doing so in a responsible manner. The safety of our people and the communities we serve must come first.
We are sharing this information with Canadians through a video we’re posting on our website and on social media. We invite you to watch the video. We are also encouraging our customers to track their parcels online through canadapost.ca or with our app.
Canada Post is proud to support your business and serve your customers during this challenging time. Thank you for trusting us with your shipping and delivery needs, and please stay safe.

Yup, I just had a package take 7 business days to come express postage...was 9 days total when they usually take 2 to 3 business days from the same place to get to me.

Couriers are the same. large volume equals delays. Also Amazon is backup. They are giving priority to anything related to helping folks with the virus and fitting in other shipments if there is space.

Amazon Prime is on time, even though they have a disclaimer stating otherwise. I just got new bike grips and a jump rope a day or two after I ordered them.

Maybe its location based. I don't think they're too busy delivering 'essentials' in BC as things seem rather mild out here compared to what is reported elsewhere from some news sources.

I ordered a power tower on amazon and it’s been stuck in a sorting facility for a week and a half with Purolator. I’m guessing no one wants to move the box cause it’s so heavy, so they’re just leaving it in the back until the new guy comes

all my canada post stuff has come on time

with amazon, I found they’re slower to ship things and get it out

I just got an order delivered to me from Canadian Med Supplies in 2 days. He’s an hour and twenty minutes from my house though 😂

Amazon prime is 3 weeks delivery for most stuff I want to buy. What they deem essential is weird. I could get makeup in two days but stuff for my car is 3 weeks. I don't get it.

Also Definitely Canada post is slow. Have had a package sent from the USA sitting in Toronto since April 13. FedEx is fast, got a Jegs order in 3 days.

Prime has been great for me. It'll say 3 weeks then I get my package in 2 days.

My friend said the same thing so I ordered some fittings. The order sat for two weeks waiting to ship. I checked in to see if it had moved and there was a two day shipping option so I clicked it. Big mistake because it added two weeks to my shipment date. I called them and asked if they could change it back and they couldnt. I cancelled the order and went thru Jegs and had them in 3 days. If I need something quick I wont use Amazon for now.

as a car guy this stuff drives me crazy. I avoid lordco shopping as the whole experience there is always horrendous so buy all my parts online unless my local parts guy can price match (usually like gaskets and filters)

my favorite company so far? rockauto. I know they get hate on a lot but Ive personally never had a problem with them and have ordered thousands, sometimes I will get the item NEXT BUSINESS DAY from CALIFORNIA via fedex which by far is the greatest courier ever. Then for me it goes UPS/USPS, DHL, canada post, purolator being worst because of how slow they are.

also recommend you order things to a USA/Canada border postal box if you are close enough, I bought a new set of four continental high performance tires for a whopping 300USD shipped.. killer deals on ebay!

I'm an hour from the boarder so that's what I do but its closed right now. Once it opens back up I will go back to doing it that way. I use rock auto for lots of stuff, way cheaper then anywhere. Most local places cant even come in the ballpark of the cost even with the crappy exchange. Plus most of the stuff I've been buying are only available there unless I want to pay a huge mark up. I know I should buy local but we get raped on prices.

Summit Racing does free shipping no brokerage just tax if you order over $299 us if you don't want to make the trip.

see you know whats up lol. and yea damn forgot the border is shut down now... I agree with wanting to support local but I also refuse to bend over to their absurd markups, also like you mentioned they can hardly get parts for my vehicle anymore. So yea I support myself (and family) before I hand local parts stores extra money for markup.

wow didnt know this about summit, as I have never ordered from them because I thought they shipped USA only! I will definitely check them out next time Im gonna make a 300+ purchase and dont want to drive over border. Need some AN fittings and hoses soon, try going to lordco for AN stuff its brutal haha.
