Bruise after muscle strain?

Straight from Dr. Google for you @Rocky about a tendon tear. The main item is the pop! I would also say severe pain from people I know, but when I ruptured my Achilles I didn't feel any pain.
I would stick to @Bignate 's supps, but with that much Vitamin C don't be surprised by diarrhea.
Ruptured Tendon Symptoms
  • A snap or pop you hear or feel.
  • Severe pain.
  • Rapid or immediate bruising.
  • Marked weakness.
  • Inability to use the affected arm or leg.
  • Inability to move the area involved.
  • Inability to bear weight.
  • Deformity of the area.
I stabbed the tendon in the inside joint of my ring finger boning a deer, since I couldn’t stop too much work, I got stitches and came right back to work. About 30 min later I felt a big pop inside the part I stabbed, then later I had a large lump.
I never really got weakness, but there are other tendons that help bend the finger on the side.
I had that lump for 5 years until I started using gh to help my colon, now the lump is gone. Go figure, but I know what the sound is like, and you know if you have done it, lol.

Thank you for the information,
So im guessing it was just a muscle tear then, seems pretty gruesome from pictures online. I didn't know muscle tears were literally tears in the muscle as if someone took your muscle and ripped it in two parts

Fortunately it healed completely already, so im hoping it was a minor tear

Dont count your chickens before they are hatched.. I had a major pec tear last year... looking back I think I tore it VERY slightly a couple times in the months leading up to the major tear.. Only once did I recall a faint bruise, but I deffinitely felt odd faint ripping feeling a couple times before the major tear.. The major tear was in the same spot I felt some minor strains and pulls in the months leading up tto the major tear..

I didn't listen to my body and now my pec is permenantly damaged. Over half of it was completely ripped in two.. It will never heal.. I can never really train chest like I used to and benching was my favorite exercise.. I also have a very visiable hole in the pec that I could probably put a small apple in lol

point being, you did very serious damage to your muscle.. let it heal longer than you think it needs to.

You will probably have a few more. I just hope you never hear that loud pop. It's always a game-changer.
I actually heard a pop once in my chest, I think I must have tore it and not known. Felt like I pulled something, luckily I read about tears and stopped training completely and went home. I was completely fine thankfully

Sorry, that sucks to hear. I know you said you can’t train chest the same but what about everyday activities? does the chest tear cause any issues Or pain?

Thanks for the warning, I sold the power tower I was doing pull ups on yesterday already, I probably would have still did some if I kept it. Don’t want to risk injuring myself with the corona virus situation

Maybe I’ll switch to cardiovascular or lower resistance/higher rep exercises, seems like all the bodybuilder with a lot of injuries from heavy lifting regretted it

So it’s been two weeks,

Ended up buying another power tower, barbell workouts weren’t doing it for me

Anyone Know if I should be good to go to hit back again? Or i should get imaging testing before hand (MRI?)

Feel it out and go slowly. You don't need an MRI. If I had an MRI before testing a torn muscle, I would be on waiting lists yearly.

Be careful. That advice came from someone who is nursing two injuries at the moment.
Dam sorry to hear about that, hope they're healing up alright and they aren't major injuries

Dexter jackson made a video about how he stayed injury free all these years, said if something doesn't feel right he doesn't train it at all until it does. If i feel any pain/weird soreness ill probably stop back workouts for another two weeks and try again

I'm always injured. When you get to be my age it seems all the old nasty tears rear up. At the moment it is a tear in my left intercostal and something is going on with my rear delt. The intercostal I did by coughing hard. Go figure.

Thats the best advice for injuries!
And dont go 100% your first few times working the injured area. Build up to 100% over a few weeks if it's pain free.

Not sure if it's true or can help but David Sinclair does research in the longevity field
His dad is 80 (if i recall correctly) and takes his longevity supplement protocol of metformin, resveratrol and NMN. He believes in the supplements, fasting, exercise and other things that activate certain genes that promote longevity.
His dad seems pretty healthy, worksout frequently and doesn't seem 80 at all. David takes the same and looks fairly young for his age, I noticed he started aging recently though and he also just started taking NMN not too long ago.

Im thinking of taking metformin and resveratrol if I start focusing on longevity, but I'm planning to eventually start taking them one day. Hoping his word is good and isn't just a sham. Im assuming this would help with healing injuries and preventing the normal things that come with aging too.

You can pay for it yourself and get it done within 36 hours.

I don't think we have private clinics in Ontario. Mind you I wouldn't use one.
Our wait is give or take a month, although I have heard people waiting longer in certain areas, which would mean I would be getting an MRI well into the healing process of my tear (from my experience). It would be a moot point if I know its a tear, which I can figure out pretty quickly. The beauty of many muscle tears over the years.

I haven't had a normal injury that comes with age. My best injury so far, besides my knees, has been ripping my abs, doing one arm push-ups. I was 26. Man that was a long time ago.

a MRI for a tear would just tell you how bad it is, where exactly it tore etc... THey can't fix muscle to muscle tears anyways..

I don't know how I feel about private medical care, but I like that I can pay for a MRI to get it done asap if I need it.

After a while, you know how bad the tear is. My gut is torn from sternum to navel. It took three different injuries to get it that far. My first triceps tear was so bad the triceps were a bit misshapen but the bruise and hematoma were down to my wrist by the end of the day. Working on locks just a bit too hard. Silliness.

ouch, are your abs the same or is there any permanent damage

and have you ever had to have any surgeries for your injuries?

I tore my MCL a few years back, was told I could opt for surgery but never got it
Debating if I should get it done one day, or just leave it. The knee I tore the MCL on is not very strong/stable when bent, I’m not sure if it’s the supporting muscles or the actual ligaments causing it

Well I couldn't fit the photo size but I'm sitting in docs right now, my entire abductor is full of blood right now ,behind my knee as well, I'm so swollen I cant even bend my knee, I had blood pooling in my groin which has drained down, 10 days ago I fell 3 or 4 ft onto a pole and landed on my abductor shrugged it off and finished out the last 3 days of the shift now after 6 days off and supposed to be returning to work tomorrow I have not made very good progress healing, i think it's actually worse with pain and range of motion I'm a little worried will see what dr says
