So in the past year NB moved over to a new online telehealth platform for the province, old one being Maple. I have used Maple for all my blood reqs in the past. I have paid the $85/month membership fee since the service is no longer covered by the government.
Anyway, the new health link platform or whatever it’s called denied giving me a blood requisition. So I tried the Maple app who ALSO said no way. “One of our NPs got burned for giving a req to someone in your specific case,” word for word.
So I’m kind of just screwed at this point. Naturopaths in NB are not able to give blood requisitions. None of the online panel purchase websites are available in NB. GP says “you can’t just request blood work from me.”
I ask if anyone has any idea for me on what can be done. The only current option I see is a 7 hour round trip into Maine every time I need blood work ran which would be a major pain in the ass.
