Looking for the best recommendations out there as far as supplements go. I understand a lot of it is up to personal preference, however I'm just trying to find a lot of the more science-backed formulas on the market.

Looking for:

Preworkout

Intra workout

General Health Vitamins/Supplements

So far I've thought about grabbing Granite Recovery based on the literature on Clusterdextrine during your workout.

Also looking at the Gorilla Dream from Gorilla Mind to counteract my crippling insomnia.

What do you want to get out of dream and mind? I've tried both. I like both (generally) but you gotta know what you want. Dream helped me sleep. But there are other cheaper options too I found. Smooth (the new version of mind) helps alot with mental clarity. Have you also considered a sleep study?

Just to add, there pre work called gorilla mode is I think the most effective pre. I hate stims in a pre workout because of the way it fucks with my sleep so I avoid pre unless I'm working out rather early in the day

I like subi super greens, omega 3, a general multivitamin, and good old whole foods, I do occasionally take pre workout, I've been using revolution brand as it doesn't add in asesculfame k and uses dextrose rather than sugar,

Intraworkout again revolution bcaa with a scoop of creatine, if I'm dieting I will use lemon water with Himalayan sea salt and creatine, this drink will also help combat keto flu (can also add acv into it)

I drink Bio steel hydration drink with stevia and a scoop of creatine while training and have BCCAs after training.

Also have 15 ml of L carnatine liquid pre workout.

Then a protein shake before bed to make sure I’ve gotten enough in.

That liquid L-carnitine for whatever reason gives me an instant anxiety attack. I have 2-3 bottles I bought of it and only took it for a week before deciding it wasn’t worth it. I tried researching into it and couldn’t find anyone with similar symptoms.

Just a personal preference but ghost Eaa bcaa mix is one of my favourite supplements
It doesn’t have everything in it but at only .5 grams of sugar per scoop it’s definitely one of the better mixes.

Agreed - best preworkout is cream of rice (quickly digested for energy) and best post workout is steak/chicken (easy to get 60 grams of protein).
The only workout supplement I will ever use again is creatine from time to time. I even dumped the protein powder and I have never felt better. I eat more eggs and various lean cuts of meat for protein.

General health supplements are endless but if you want a list for liver/kidneys/lipids & BP/prostate/inflammation/anti-oxidant - I'm happy to list the ones I find to be best.

Morning @DeezNutz,

Apologies for the long winded post but it is very difficult to answer in a short concise paragraph.

One of the problems is you can break the bank trying to cover off every potential supplement. Everyone has a different list and mine is what works for me. Everything I list is not taken daily (far from it) - I rotate but there are a few key ones I take daily. I research each one and look for as many studies as I can to determine if they are actually doing what I hope they will do. Does that study mean it's fact - nope, but at least there is a little science behind trying/using it.
All opinion based but I try to concentrate on keeping antioxidants high, glutathione boosters in particular, anti-inflammatory supplements, BP healthy, and supplements that will cover off more than one of these at a time. I don't blast and as such I don't need some of the supplements others may consider essential. If it appears I concentrate a lot on my liver - I do. I had liver issues from Mono and it caused fatty liver which I healed with a lot of experimentation with supplements/peptides but I still take a lot of supplements to keep my glutathione up/inflammation down.
We could all argue about the best brands - I like Now and Life Extensions but there are lots of other quality brands.
Dosage is another conversation. I take supplements twice a day with meals - Am and PM. Wobenzymes being the exception if I am using it for pain.

1. curcumin - I prefer NF's Theracurmin (oral) or INNO's injectable curcu-ject.
2. black seed oil - if you have not read about Nigella Sativa please do. I always buy Life Extensions brand. This herb is referred to as the wonder herb. Good for BP, inflammation, and if what is written is accurate much more.
3. Astragalus - NOW brand is the one I usually buy. Kidney health and an adaptogen.
3. low dose aspirin at night - carries risks for bleeding / ulcers but should help with BP and thick blood issues.
4. Ubiquinol or Q10 - if what is written is accurate, Q10 is fine for younger people and Ubiquinol is better for older. I posted an article in the supplement section. I prefer a combo as it helps my BP better than just one. I am in the older category.
5. Fish oil - high EPA and DHA content. Cheap fish oil with low EPA/DHA means you have to take a shit ton of pills. I prefer Carlesons. I do not take fish oil year round but as soon as I see my BP go up, I start it.
6. Vitamin C - minimum 1000 mg a day.
7. NAC - great for increasing glutathione and first line of treatment for acetaminophen poisoning. I purchase Life extensions 600 mg tabs.
8. Sam-e - doesn't get much attention or at least I rarely see it on these lists. It was proven as effective as NAC for acetaminophen overdose, as good as celebrex for specific pain issues, and is a script medication in some countries for depression. Very expensive but not if you buy it in the US at places like Vitacost - they always have sales and I use their brand that comes in 400 mg tabs mainly because it costs a fortune if you want to take 800 mg a day.
9. If you are concerned about your prostate - there are good supplements that include saw palmetto, pumpkin seed, etc. I like New Chapters Prostate 5LX. Is this essential - maybe not but androgens impact your prostate.
10. So much starts with digestions so a quality enzyme product is a great addition. I prefer Wobenzymes because it can be used for pain if taken away from food and did as well as diclofenac (another powerful NSAID) in this regard or used to help digest your food. Essential - probably not but in my cupboard all the same.

Cheap additions and part of my daily regimen - an ounce of apple cider vinegar in water and a chunk or two of raw ginger. Buy it at the grocery store and cut off a chunk and peal it. It has been proven to protect your liver against liver toxic substances and it is an excellent anti-inflammatory. Fresh squeezed lemon juice in water is a good addition as well. Not a supplement but it is in every one of my naturopathic books for a multitude of issues.
Not a supplement but a peptide - BPC157 has a lot of health promoting properties besides helping heal injuries. If you are bored - read up on it's use in protecting your liver/organs and potential use in organ transplants. Fascinating peptide - one I take on and off.
ALA is a great supplement for nerve pain/kidney/liver protection.
Albeit I have never used it, I have read a lot of guys I consider experienced and intelligent using citrus bergamot. Many people swear by TUDCA but it did F all for me. This was based on adding it to my liver regimen for a month and running bloods again - comparing to other liver enzyme tests.
I know what works to keep my liver happy but that doesn't mean it will work for others.

As you can see you can easily spend $100's on supplements, do you need them all or others? If your blasting and pushing the envelope - maybe.

As always, thank you for posting such great content! A lot of info to go through here.

FYI FWIW all y'all - This site is full of great info and lot's of members here who can share some very valuable first hand personal knowledge and have read through the science too. We can all jump steps ahead by standing on the shoulders of others who have done this ground work. In the end your opinion and experience will likely vary but the value of this accumulated knowledge is priceless.

On the subject of supplements IMO @Goldenrod 's thoughts and opinions deserve and receive as much attention and weight as anyone who posts here, truly the top of the heap. "Consider the source" - always a critical part of the equation and in this case the source is a quality guy who has put in the work and is straightforward with the conclusions he has reached and can back up the way he reached them. Another outstanding post itt today.

My list and thoughts are slightly different than his but heavily influenced by his words, I can easily say that in the last ten years or so no single person has influenced my supp choices and research as much as him.

No homo.
