anyone do a DNA ancestry test?

My dad picked up a kit but we got my son to do it so it covered my wife’s side. The results were pretty much as expected except the high percentage of Scandinavian which isn’t a surprise considering all the raping and pillaging that went on.

Same with me in regards to the Scandinavian stuff. Vikings were all over the place back in the day and actually settled in many areas of England and had major influences on Scottish Clans.
Overall the test was about as accurate as it could be with my family's fractured heritage.

Got a gene test done! I have a gene that gives "poor metabolization of steroids" .... Life isn't fair. Although it's probably a minor difference tbh.

If I was a girl I'd have absolutely massive boobs.

Muscles are meant for short bursts of power, not endurance (aka powerlifting)

Very unlikely to ever go bald or get cancer, unless it's pancreatic cancer in which case I'm RIP

And very reasonable to expect to live to 100. Got them long life genes apparently.

No allergies, 20/20 vision.

Overall I'd be a great sperm donor I guess... (if you want a daugher with big boobs?)

Not sure how real any of the results are. My mom and 4 of her brothers had it done and they all came back with different heritages 🤷‍♂️
Ya this is what I have heard too. One person sent in multiple tests and got different results each time

From what I read in a very detailed article it seems there are sometimes unexplained omissions even when family history points to known heritage in some branch of your family.

Good vid. I did notice the lack of hot receptionists though, lil disappointed.

Lol! Reminds me of my delivering cash registers and accounting machines days. All the super -hot girls who worked in banks. It was always a pleasure delivering.

I gave it a try. It was legit. Had a bunch of cousins pop up in my results, that I know personally. As well as my dad's great grandfather. Who was confirmed by my family as the same person.
My heritage was exactly where my family had always told me it was, with a few small surprises.
And as far as giving the DNA to law enforcement, well I haven't nor will I be committing any major crimes, so I'm not very worried.
I thought it was a fun experience.

Wow, I think it's pretty rare to have the results match closely to family "legend". That's pretty cool. (y)

Regarding law enforcement, my concern is around things like health insurance and other types of genetic profiling. It may seem unlikely now, but things may change in the future as laws + technology evolve. Mind you I'm a bit of a privacy nut (I don't use Facebook either), and I certainly don't disdain anyone else using these services.
