CanadaPost wtf

I just received a parcel from Canada post. From Ontario to Edmonton AB took 3 business days

no question things are slower - why, who knows but if you ask for signature required you will find the parcel and get it albeit it might take a while. If the parcel ends up at the wrong spot with no signature required and the person who received it calls the cops, obviously it would not be good.

I'll join the club...

bought a new handgun before Christmas. Still waiting for the transportation permit from the CFO...

I got the permit from the CFO to transpot it to my house from the post office.. In that letter it stated my permit would arrive shortly.

Need to call the CFO to confirm it was even sent, but I'm guessing it was and things at CP are slow.

mail is sent based on the level of priority

if the truck has limited space all the priority packages get on there first
then if there is room the expresspost gone on there
then if there is any room left the expedited parcels go on
and finally anything sent regular mail without tracking.

so if you want your mail out the door consider expresspost or priority
if you choose any other option your risking delays.

I have a business expedited card. Started to use that, thinking the sane as express post. Not near, just above snail mail like you stated. I always use express post for important items with signature required.

I believe that they think they're the only game in town.

They're wrong.

Surprisingly, depending on what and how you're shipping, Fedex ground will get it there perhaps not next day but cheaper. At the very least you'll have site to site shipping of everything you ship and since they're all owner operators, you won't deal with some snippy Canada Post chick. :)

your failing to take in to consideration most of the packages folks are talking about here contain AAS. Courier companies can open a package if they feel it is suspicious. When you send using a courier company you either show ID to send a package or you have an account that you had to show id in order to get said account.

so you go ahead and use fedex but if my go to lab started to use it I would think it was run by individuals that take just to many risks for my liking. A lab might be sending many packages on a daily basis. The more they would use a company the more apt for something to go wrong. Say a vial was to break inside and the pack was then opened.

Now as for Canada post they operate on a totally different set or rules.

Ahhhh I understand what you mean now. I used to work for Fedex air and the number of lost or damaged packages was minuscule but that was air.

My own experience with CP is kind of spotty but what you say makes sense now.

and yes indeed fedex and the other couriers are much better but the inherent risk makes it not a viable choice for our type of packages

My Canada post lady loves me. Last Canada post guy, I hired to work at my shop, lol.

Any one have issues with Canada post not scanning items? I have two parcels that were sent with tracking and both were just scanned once and hasn’t been updated since and it’s already a day past delivery.

yep. sent cash that never did get scanned as received. Thankfully the vendor was honest and let me know he had it.

It’s frustrating because it’s 20+ dollars to send a damn package that weighs nothing. They really gotta step it up.

I agree. Canada is one of the most expensive places to ship goods. For the most part they're pretty good, but lately I've been hearing horror stories from some friends. Knock on wood and hope for the best lol
