Classic physique was a great lineup this year and I enjoyed the show but I'm so stoked for open this year. I've been a Nick Walker fan for years and did he ever bring it this year. Prejudging was great and if Nick looks that good at the finals it could be his year. Nick and Samson both look better this year and Derek may be a little.better too so who knows.

Fuckin massive. Nick Walker looks like a cartoon character. Literally looks like that should not be possible
 
Just watched Pre. So far Nick and Derek are as close as I think any 2 guys have ever been. However judging has changed from back in my day so who knows. Nick's back lat spread is not good, especially compared to Derek's. Other than that they are trading wins on the mandatories and usually not by too much. Derek's rear double bi is clearly phenomenal.
I put a lot of weight on the initial wow factor and what guys look like when "relaxed" and also when truly relaxed. Especially when looking at breaking a tie, call it aesthetics if you like. In that case I definitely give it to Nick. Dereks upper thighs are actually too thick and overall he looks like a bit of a 2 months out doughboy.

I won't be surprised if it is later revealed that it came down to a 1 point difference headed into tonight and a 1 point win.
 
Final results should be in somewhat soon if think. I'm really hoping for Nick. He seems like a fairly down to earth guy.

He's had some major setbacks in his progress, and he had some major weak points. (Midsection.) He actually came back from the year things fell apart right before competition. And he's made major improvements on his midsection. Those 2 things seem to me to be a big part of what bodybuilding is about. Not giving up and identifying and fixing weak points. I feel over the years a lot of people have had midsection issues, and they never fixed them. They maybe didn't even admit them and even some fans turned a blind eye. Maybe coaches too. Nick's been held a high standard and has always fought to meet that. Or seems that way to men and he is fucking huge!!! Defined, lean.

That said, as I've watched a bunch of Derek's traini g videos leading up to his competition he is absolutely massive too. I was impressed. Great shape too. However the definition part, definitely lacking there. No question.
 
So far Nick appears to be winning the finals from what I saw. I'm thinking Nick 1 Samson 2 Derek 3. This is a good Olympia. It would have been nice to see Urs this year but he made the right choice to sit this one out. It's a shame we didn't get to see Hadi this year.

Classic was the same, a great Olympia. I didn't watch any 212 yet but I probably will, I kinda think 212 is an unnecessary division just compete in open, I also never pay attention to physique, it's like oh you don't want to train to have big legs? cute bro, why not have a division for fat guys or skinny guys while we're at it too. Classic was a cool addition because it's meant to be like golden era physique but the weight caps on height are kinda BS I think they should be judged on wether they look classic or not.

I was so happy to see Nick finally get the win. He's worked so f'ing hard and gets so much hate. I love seeing him get the recognition he deserves.

Low score wins, low and high votes are eliminated so only 5 judges are counted. Nick beat Derek by 1 point in Pre, Samson improved a ton overnight and scored 1st by all 5 judges in Final but couldn't overcome his Pre deficit. Awesome tension.
Also best production quality I have seen other than some shit camera choices where they zoom in so you can't compare the whole group or see some fun stuff during the posedown.

Physique is just a different look man. Trust me, they train legs.
