Question for welders!

Real happy for you. So hard to say what things like this are worth cause it needs so much work even if u weren't shortening it. "It's worth whatever someone will pay for it" comes to mind.
It doesnt actually need much just one pully to and its fully functional. One side works now im just not going to use it until I get it in my basement. Yea i couldn't imagine id find anything like it even in its condition for under 800$

couple of questions about shit that doesn't really matter now that the tech stuff seems solved if u don't mind cause im just stupidly curious by nature. I'm jelly, I wish this was my project lol

What's the story on who/how aquired?
Did you pay for this ? $?
r the pics from the old location?
RU gonna go full restoration on this? total disassembly, paint, lube etc
i think I saw nylon looking wheels? def might need a look and an upgrade for example
Nylon wheels are perfectly fine. I have a pretty high end multimachine and the wheels are all nylon and I have used the machine for 20 years without complaint. Cables will wear out before the wheels. For home gym, we will never wear these machines out, lol.

What did you pay for yours and did you buy it new?

I bought it brand new in 2005, I paid around $7000.

It has 2 stacks of 200 lbs, the 1 stack controls each end, so in theory 2 people could train in it if they were using either end.

The bench and leg press is multiplied. So you can bench up to 400 lbs and leg press I believe 1000 lbs.

You can do a complete workout on it.

@Bigbear you will love it when you have the machine setup. I picked up a vintage 80’s York 2001 single cable tower for $80 strictly for tricep push downs but since using it over the last year, I found it so versatile I now covet this machine. It’s so bad, haha, that’s it’s good.

My son of course wants me to get a bells of steel twin cable unit but I can’t really be bothered to spend the money….

Your unit will be worth to you more than someone else in the end. Trust me, no one is looking to buy what I got but it is absolutely priceless to me. I laugh at how useable it is every time I use it.

Thats a descent machine. Yea i agree this things priceless to me. I may even completely restore it over time it'll be a nice addition to my home gym. I usually just go to my local gym but if I get everything I need I wont have to anymore.

I would go to the gym for heavy weight days but training now at my age doesn’t really require it or is too risky. I have thought of 1 heavy day per week and rotate thru the body parts over the month but I keep to lower weights/mind muscle connection and volume these days vs the 20yr old me of the old days.

Plus shoulder/back injuries over the years dictates no heavy bench or squats anyways.

So it’s cable machines for the win…..
