PROTEIN POWDER (liquid gold)

I hope I’m posting this in the right thread.

So I did what every responsible gym rat does during the holidays I panic bought protein powder like the world was ending. Picked up a few tubs of IsoGold for about $100 each and felt like a genius. Fast forward 4 months… I run out, stroll into Popeye’s thinking I’ll just grab another tub no problem. BOOM… $154.99. I thought they accidentally scanned a hooker, a steak, and a gym membership all at once. Naturally, I go bargain hunting. The cheapest decent option I could find was XP Isolate at $138.99… which still feels like I’m financing my gains monthly. So I ask the guy at the store what’s going on, and he tells me the price hike is because Starbucks bought 300 million pounds of whey protein. Apparently we’re all competing with pumpkin spice lattes for our macros now. Makes sense nothing screams “post-workout recovery” like a caramel drizzle. He also told me to stock up now because prices might jump another 25% by the end of May… which is awesome because I was just thinking I didn’t enjoy having money anyway. At this point I’m considering milking cows myself, switching to a chicken breast subscription service or just eating drywall and calling it a bulk. With these prices, where are you guys getting your protein from? Any solid brands?Listen, I’m all for paying to be a big jacked unit… but there’s gotta be a limit before I start putting whey on a payment plan.

Cheers boys, stay strong and solvent

Everything is protein now when you go to the store, it's our new reailty unfortunately.

I try to get my protein from food but admit I do buy whey protein for my smoothie. The price is ridiculous and a tub of whey protein is more than a lot of other stuff that will give much better results.
My better half does the shopping and I give a list of what I want so I can have 40-50 grams of protein in each meal. The cost of food has gone through the roof and our grocery bill has increased and we are not buying more food each week.
The cost for almost 'everything' has been climbing steadily for years. It sucks - no other way to F'n put it.
