So I just got bloods done and I haven't been on anything Fun Anabolic Androgenic for well over a year now and for the past 3 or 4 months I feel so shity everything seems like it's in slow motion and my entire body is in pain overload feet back shoulders chest pain headaches and zero Limbidos ! Well I had a big chat with my Doctor and he told me my thyroid is extremely low in my boots low when he said this to me I was Like Holy Fuck ! I asked him can low thyroid cause severe never pain ?
His answer was Yes !
Then I asked him can low thyroid cause chest pain and achey joints ?
He said yes and it can also cause high cholesterol Low thyroid contributes to lowering good cholesterol and raising bad cholesterols ! Not only that but it makes you lethargic as fuck and it tanks your libido's like it or not ! And that is never good because if you got a hungry chick she could take it personal and think you don't got the hotts for her any more and that's not good ! I am all ready on thyroid meds 250 mg so he has upped that to 275 mgs and he has given me a script of statin meds called Rosuvustatin 10 mg I heard statins are garbage for you and can fuck you up and make Testosterone tank and other meds not work or some shit haven't researched why yet but I will get on it
I want to try red rice yeast and citrus bergamot out first and also cut carbs completely from my diet ! In 6 weeks I go for more blood work I guess it is time to be more vigilant about my health and not so reckless as fuck !

Wouldn't cutting all your carbs have a negative effect on thryoid output? Maybe carb cycling is a way to balance everything out.

Well I am on thyroid replacement therapy levothyroxine so it is basically a synthetic hormone replacement it replaces what my thyroid can't produce ! It does not stimulate thyroid hormone so with an outside source of hormone replacement can it negatively effect thyroid levels ? I don't know but I am going to say no ! I would think with an exogenous source it wouldn't matter about carb intake supplements or compounds that usually would alter thyroid hormone levels up or down ! I will definitely look further into this because it is a pressing matter for me ! The carb cycle is a good idea anyway but my reason for backing of on the much loved carbs for me is there negative effect on Cholesterol and Inflammation my Doctor before this one sat me down and told me if I wanted to lower cholesterol back off of all carbs for 3 to 4 months and then we will run another blood panel and go from there she was quite clever and seemed to know more than most practitioners I have delt with but she ended up moving back to the States because she was fed up she told me with BC's goofy HealthCare system , She was from the states her husband was from here ! She also told me lay off the bacon the butter and stuff like using cooking oil but the carb thing and cholesterol was a surprise but it made sense ! any way thanx for the fed back CoolRick !

Yes it can. In the event that you are not eating enough (particularly carbs) to stimulate T3 conversion your body will convert the T4 you are taking to reverse T3 essentially putting the brakes on your metabolism. Obviously this is different for everyone and everyone has a different threshold.

I've been in a jam with what seems to be a mish mosh of type 2 diabetes and hypothyroidism that requires a very fine balance of carbohydrate intake. I too have done no or low carbs only to find myself have diabetic neuropathy symptoms (swollen toes, constipation etc). No carbs was making my blood sugar uncontrollable!

So basically, no carbs I get diabetic and hypothyroidism symptoms. I had carbs last night and even had sweets, dosed enough insulin and woke up with A+ blood sugar and energy. I ate healthy, lean meats, healthy fats, low carbs (50-60g) and my blood sugar was out of whack. Very fustrating. I'll be looking to get some more in-depth testing as well.

Not saying, you will have the same issues, just saying sometimes the most obvious answer doesn't pan out how you might think.

similar issues to me... if you find anything out, please let me know

Will do. Glad to know I'm not alone.

It makes getting lean very difficult and life miserable without carbs, but it's a very fine line before getting fat easily. I love keto/ low carb my mood is great but my BG and bowel movements get so bad. I sorta realized there was something to this carb thing when I'd literally eat chocolate and random crap everyday and yet be in a severe deficit but my insulin requirements went down and no BG issues, no swollen toes or constipation suggesting my metabolism wasnt the cause of the slow down in bowel movements.

It's a really strange bind I'm in. I need to get leaner to be healthier (I'm no more than 20% at a given time) to have a chance at being off insulin yet when I drop my carbs I need more of it. I've even gone as far as starving off all my enhanced gains (30lbs or so) and regularly fasting 18-20hrs a day and my body is like "fuck you pal I'll just slow you down and make you skinny fat 😇." The fasting "experts" can suck my dick BTW with their bullshit about better insulin sensitivity.

Oh boy what a mess I'm in 😮‍💨😞

I don't want to detract anymore from this thread, once I get some tests done I'll make a thread or PM you @animal-inside should I find anything. Sorry @Mad Zuiki 😅

Within the last year my doc did bloods and wanted me to get my cholesterol numbers down. He wanted to put me on a statin unless I could improve my numbers so I hit the internet. I came up with adding Berberine and changing my Omega 3’s to Omegas with plant sterols. Sure enough my numbers improved and my doc was happy, myself included.

What worked for me was NAC, citrus bergamot, psyllium husk, oatmeal, selenium, and lots of green tea. My cholesterol, liver enzymes, and TSH were all into the unhealthy range and my doctor wanted to put me on statins, but I declined because you are correct, those drugs have a million negatives and one positive. Within a month, I brought all my bad markers down 20% to 30%.

What I did was; 600mg of NAC and 600mg of CB 30 mins before breakfast and dinner. It is crucial to have before a meal as food can wash it down and significantly reduce the effectiveness. A bowl of porridge (steel cut oats) with psyllium husk to start the day off creates a gel in your digestive tract that absorbs cholesterol, primarily the ‘bad’ LDL, before entering your bloodstream. Make sure to drink alot of water immediately after though, or you may give yourself constipation. Additionally, drink anywhere from 3 to 6 bags of green tea per day. Green tea has so many benefits that’ll take me forever to write it out, but the key one here is it’s ability to lower your body’s absorption of cholesterol. I drink green tea with breakfast and lunch. Lastly, selenium is food for your thyroid—whether your TSH is low or high, 100mcg of selenium twice a day with food should solve your problems there.

CoQ10 and berberine can also help. CoQ10 doesn’t lower cholesterol, but rather changes its form. It reduces the oxidative stress in your body that converts cholesterol from safe fluffy and large clumps into hard, little pellets that can cause plaque build up. Berberine is great too, but it inhibits an enzyme in your liver that can reduce the absorption of oral drugs, like Cialis, Viagra, Anavar, etc, so berberine can actually cause more harm to your kidneys and liver, if taken alongside oral drugs. It also lowers blood pressure, so taken it with a bp med can cause hypotension.

How did you feel before and after correcting all of this?

I feel no difference, tbh. Cholesterol, liver enzymes, and thyroid are usually asymptomatic. I can’t even say I feel higher energy or anything either because the last batch of testosterone I ordered turned out be severely underdosed.

Thanks for sharing that.

This is exactly why blood work and the approach docs take grinds my gears. They can't even tell you how everything works together. It's ends up just being a game of playing with numbers. Sorry if this sounds like a rant.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, is what I say.

No problem mate. I forgot to mention—cardio is incredibly beneficial too, but only a specific type is better than others. Cardio can be split into five zones, each distinct by how hard your heart is working. Zone one would be an easy walk and zone five would be sprinting at maximum capacity as long as you can, as in you cannot physically work yourself harder even if you wanted to. Out of all of these, zone 3 is the most beneficial. Zone one to two are too easy, and four and five cause unnecessary stress on your body (raises cortisol, puts your body in a hyper stress state, hard on the joints if its out of the water, oxidative stress, etc). You also can’t do zone four and five often either due recovery times.

Zone three would be working your heart at 75% capacity. It is usually the moment you have to start breathing through your mouth. It is about 5 to 7 out of 10 on the difficulty scale. You can maintain a conversation, but only in brief bursts. Research indicates this is the ideal cardio zone of reducing cholesterol.

Also, I got all of my supplements off iHerb. Everything is verified and affordable, and arrives quickly.

So basically do wind sprints like a Rugby player ?

I’ve never tried it that way, but I’m sure it can work, as long as you keep your heart rate near consistently around 75% of your maximum. Personally, I go for a light 5km to 8km jog—depending on how I feel for that day. I do this about three times a week.
