What’s your career!

Totally a real job. Without you it’s on the business owner. Allows us focus on generating income and alleviates some of the back end.

I’ve had good payroll and bad payroll, the later can cause of major problems.
Say what you will, but without you no one gets paid. If you ain't paying me, I ain't working. Gotta be one of the most important jobs there is. I will never admit it to those cocky sales guys, but without money, no one is getting paid... they are also vital.
I've never had the opertunity or qualifications to do office work. Mind you I have adhd so I might go stir crazy sitting down all day but I think I'd probably prefer your job lol.
Umm yeah, screw that! Thankfully, I've done my job, but it would be done due to crypto anyway.

At least the tougher hands-on guys will have jobs in 10 years, though. You might take down some IT/office jobs, but people gotta have new buildings, fresh meat, or other jobs that just won't die soon.

Those concrete pumps must have been hell on construction when they came out. Taking guys who were busting balls on moving concrete all over a site out of the mix by someone just manning and moving a nozzle and someone making sure the concrete is being fed into the pump.
You know when I worked in an office setting I actually found it harder to get motivated to train.

Almost like an object in motion stays in motion.

Payroll is an important job. Who doesn't like getting paid.

Thanks everyone for the kind words on my job. I appreciate that. I don't take it for granted. Fought hard to get it mind you. Wasn't an easy process, but yeah. Hopefully keep it long term.

And as Ive thought about it more, one of the things that makes it good, is really my managers. I have been so lucky with them. I bet many know having a decent boss can make or break a good or bad job. So I been lucky there. Big time Meaning, by and large they leave me alone! Haha. Meetings they don't pick at me and generally follow what I tell them. Frig I hope I didn't just jinx it for me. Everytime they mention a new manager to our dept I'm like oh fackkkk what wing nut they gonna try to bring in now!? Lol but so far so good.

Anyway, enough of my yammering, but thanks all.

Male Whore. Don't ask because I don't bat for the same side/stay on the same side of the fence and if I even have to consider using latex on you, I ain't fucking you.

It's a rarified environment I work in because I pickem and stickem.

Had a little run-in with a yeast infection when one of the bitches didn't let me know her pussy was on fire but a little creme and some professional distancing and we took care of that deal. I mean I want to but I can't really blame her...she needed the cock and it didn't matter that she was going to make me have to cancel 3/4 of a week of my clients because her fungal problem was more important than my livelihood.

She wasn't amused when she got her ass cancelled. Fuck me over once and that's it...she's now stuck trying to find another stick.
You Filthy Bastard thats a great Story

Yea i couldnt believe how much they make, iwas always told i make good moneyas a carpenter... but i seen adds that pay higher for 1 year of plumbing/gasfitting experience then fullyticketed carpenters... like as a carownter in b.c., unless u own a business of ur own is 25-40$h... typically havent met anyone who makes more then 70k unless theydo overtime. Where as i found lots of ads for 1year+ experienced gasfitters to start 60-90k a year plus full benefits and a company car and cellphone. Like i had good benefits and was makin 35$ and i was told iwas overpayed lol. I got my licence taken away a lil while back and i haveto redo the driving test to prove im still capable if driving and as soon as i pass that i wanna jump intodoing that sort of stuff.... ive done electrical, a lil bit.. pulling wire, low voltage, installing plugs, lights, ect. But ive never assembled a fuse box, but besides the box it seems fairly simple. I just find its overstocked with guys, growing up everyonewas told to be an electrician, ive seen ads for apprentices that start at 18$ so idk. I keep being told to move to alberta. Kinda seems like its where everyone is going now. I have a girl who i been talkin to daily whose tryin to get me up there, sent me a picture iftickets she wantto buy to fly me up there to stay with her, took a picture of her standup doubke freezer with half a cow and pig in there all diced up, sends me her lunch n dinner pics everyday, jobsearches for me.. whatever she can to encourage me ti go up there
Fuck Carpentey you are young get out of it while you still can make the move to another trade ASAP , I have been a Carpenter for over 25 years when you own your own Company guys only show up half the time guys thay are worth 25 an hour all want 40 , If you go work for some one else they never put there pouch on and work with the crew then try and fuck around for pay at the end of the job and when you lean on them What do they do thats right they call the cops and tell the cops you threatened there lives , Fuck Carpentry unless you are an Industrial Carpenter on Big fuckin jobs Like Site C and Potash Silos and or doing fly in fly out jobs for the mining industry 99 percent of the time you are working for people you have to chase for money because A they were never good enough to make that cake on there own B its become a game of how hard u can take it up the ass and c they have added way to many extras without compensating the Carpenter for it back in the day if they had a detail that wasnt on the print and they asked a favour the word we used was Fuck you !! No questions asked then if they pressed us we over priced it if it was only 500 extra we would say 1500 then settle on 1000 now guys are doing so many extras houses are taking a week longer to build than they should , go be an industrial pipefitter iron worker or millwright trust me u will be way better off the Carpenters on the west coast need Italians here to set alot of shit straight
Cause its a mess and 60 percent of the cunts in the trade are fuckin junkies , And 90 percent of the Companies especially on the Coast are all young guys with fuck all experience working for people that are company owners that have zero experience building anything and these people have floaded the market here because it is huge and busy for now !! Then these companies scrambling for jobs underbiding cunts left amd right with an administration team of university bum sniffs that all want 120 000 grand a year they come along and hire guys like me that they think and believe are a dime a dozen to run there crews and then the cunts offer me 35 / 40 an hour and think thats big money , if I go piece work for myself working by myself suddenly my hourly rate is 60 to 75 per hour take home after taxes and that is working at there shit 1.25 a square foot rate for buolding condo floors and condo floors only doing that shit I can stay ahead of a 6 to 8 man wall crew all by myself but trust me I break my balls on thay pace and its not fun the main thing is being organized i lay out 4 to 6 units beams pockets toilet centers then meassure all LVLs joists 2ply and 3 ply beams then i hit the yard cut it all in marked units then fly them all 1 time and I stay there till they are all built then I repeat the system thing is big companies will hire you on as a sub then they see the coin you make and start to get pissed off at first they ask you to come on board as an employee then they say work is winding down and they only got enough work for there own guys but at an hourly rate they can keep you on when this happens its cause you are actually making good bank , and out here on the coast it happens every fuckin time i put my pouch on so make that move Palmer dont go thru the pain and bullshit I did , Leave Now

Apprentice electrician level 4, almost red seal. Had a cooking career before and got sick of it, so decided to change and no regrets.
Cool! I do electrician/electrical work in my career path and love every minute. Luckily my trades training also writes off my electrician apprenticeship hours, so I could red seal if I get bored. Once you get out there on your own you will love the freedom AND pay! Good luck!

Computer Analyst, Migration Specialist........Started in the IT business some 30 years ago, doing board level repairs, and moved up in the Software, Data center domain, Had many different roles and contracts...another 5-7 years and I will close shop, retire...Travel with my girl!

I’ve been trying to talk my grandson into becoming an electrician. I think he would enjoy the work.
@Sorbate do what you can to convince him for sure! The apprentices get incentives now for passing each level. Basic, intermediate and advanced. $$. When the go for the CofQ and pass with a 70%or more, there’s a few k given to them. All I had for me during the early 90’s was EI during the time in trade school. Measly $385.00 a week! My how things have changed. This is in Ontario. Can’t advise on other provinces though.

Thanks for the info

In Ontario.

My grandson had no idea what he wants to do. I keep saying electrical. Anytime I did rewiring on the house, I tried to get him to get into it. If a piece of equipment breaks at work, I show him how to read wiring diagrmas to troubleshoot. He hasn’t really shown intrest, but things can change. Really most people have no idea what they want to do at 15.

I own a butcher shop and he could always take that over and expand it. We have built a great foundation, but I just don’t want to work 80 hour weeks anymore to grow it. I make good money, so the incentive really isn’t there for me, but he would be young and energentic

My grandson lives with me BTW.

It’s not easy to decide one way or another. I’ve told my kids when they were younger, to choose something they will enjoy for a long time, this way it doesn’t feel like you “have” to be there at work to pay bills.
