@Heraclitus a CT calcium score in AB is $460 but you only need one every 5 years. As an investment in your health, it’s the equivalent of 2 vials of test per year. I would suggest if it’s available to people in their province it should be a must before agreeing to take a statin.

My Dr wanted me on a statin based solely on LDL but wouldn't give me a requisition. I had a CIMT done in the states, that showed zero thickening.
Dr. said "but guidelines say" and still wanted me on a statin.
For the next lipid panel I crushed my LDL by boosting carbs for 6 weeks and he was happy.
When asked how I did it,
"Swapped out sardine and eggs breakfasts for pancakes with syrup,
and started eating desserts after dinner.
Because that's healthier right?
