Joe Rogan anecdote about the minute he quit, please excuse any inaccuracies, just what I remember...I know these street fights are extremly brutal but it's the same as ufc just without rules. I've never seen any knockouts yet that scared the shit out of me, and only a few eye gouges and head stomps. I don't like the idea of people getting hurt beyond repair it's sad and sickening to me. Apparently no one has died in the history of this club thankfully.
That happened but I think Joe was also getting headaches from fighting and was worried about his health in the long run. Yea these no rules fights are bad looking I would never take part and the concrete floors are ridiculous. Little fun fact though, as far as I believe anyway, while bare nuckle looks bad, it actually just causes more cuts, worse hand fractures and a lot would argue that actual boxing gloves are worse because they allow you to take way more hits to the head and each one of them still being hard enough to concuss. You'll hear guys say a lot the gloves don't protect the guys head they protect your hands. I wouldn't sport fight, I'd spar at most but I still enjoy watching the fights.Joe Rogan anecdote about the minute he quit, please excuse any inaccuracies, just what I remember...
Joe was fighting at the Taekwondo US nationals and head kicked his opponent unconscious, guy was out cold for like half an hour and still out when they took him away by ambulance. Joe tried to play it cool but was rattled pretty badly. I'm not sure how badly the guy was messed upin the end.
After the tourney he travels back home. First day back at the gym to resume training he is greeted by his head instructor. Instructor says 'I hear you had a big knockout'
Joe says 'Yeah it was scary, I thought I might have killed him'
Instructor says 'sometimes they die' and walks away.
It occurs to Joe that he is one of "they"
There’s a big difference between smacking your head on a canvas vs concrete though. And the weird part about the human body is, when it goes unconscious the head usually hits the ground first. I think that would be my biggest concern with that stuff.I know these street fights are extremly brutal but it's the same as ufc just without rules. Yea me too, I'd never do this. It takes balls and stupidity. But i like watching it, I'm surprised it's not more popular Dana white should get behind it. It's better then that slap bullshit lol. There’s a big difference between smacking your head on a canvas vs concrete though. Bang on correct bud, if I'm remembering right he was just saying that this was the moment when it all hit him. I can't even remember right now when I heard the story I told, that's why I mentioned inaccuracies. Might have even been on the last podcast lol fucking memory is goingThat happened but I think Joe was also getting headaches from fighting and was worried about his health in the long run. there’s one old user that comes to mind for sure hahahalol this is what I visualize people who wanna meet people from forums in real life think they will do
Yea, it seems there's a bit of an honor code and they try not to eye gouge but some guys will use it when there losing. The crowd gets pissed off and call him a pussy and a loser for being dirty so I think guys usually try to not do it. For no rules it's pretty clean, there's no Nutt kicks and grabs eitherI don't like the eye-gouging... I still feel like there should be some rules.
