As some of you know, Ive been on the forums for quite sometime. Many longer than I, but in my time I’ve been lucky enough to find some great people and be part of a few things that truly had benefited the community as a whole.
I see more and more the dropping of terms or labels on people and these labels are increasingly being misused or perverted to fit an argument. This is a problem.
I think it’s important that we as a whole collectively be mindful of what certain terms mean. This both for the old timers who may have forgotten and the new or newer members that weren’t part of the community when these terms were forged.
So with that I’d like to offer my take on a few key terms that more and more are being used by people, sometimes incorrectly.
Scammer - a scammer is someone, usually a source, that takes your money and doesn’t fulfill their end of the deal. All of you should always be wary of any unsolicited pms or emails you receive of people promising the world.
PM sourcing - potential sources that solicit members via the private message service in any respective board. These folks maybe outright scammers or sources trying to sneakily source a board without monitoring. Either way folks, it’s a huge red flag. Don’t ever choose to work with someone you don’t know through pm’s. You will get ripped off.
Selective scammer - this is someone, also usually a source, that selectively takes some people’s money and provides on their end. However rips others off. Usually vets are treated fairly and noobs are scammed. This is difficult sometimes to catch because you have those with reputation saying all is good and those newer folks left out in the cold.
Reverse scammer - an end user that accepts gear on spot and never follows through on his or her end with payment. This can happen if a lab or rep is nice and sends out products before payments are received. Usually this happens with people who may have developed a good reputation with the lab or rep and then makes s large order and disappears.
Bunk gear - gear that is no good and doesn’t do what it should. It may have little to no hormone in it. Also to contemplate here is gear that is not dosed properly. I look as overdosed gear as bunk gear as well. This is not always the thoughts of some people. But some labs will overdose things or add things to certain items to try to give themselves an edge in the marketplace. This, despite some opinions is not a good thing. It sets the table for accusations of underdosed gear that may just be accurately dosed. Additionally the gear may have other items in it to make up for what’s not in it. I.e. equipoise being passed on as primobolan. The list here could go on and on.
Info collector - someone, usually a lab or a rep that takes people’s information and stores it for personal gain or to hold it against the end user. Now does this include reps or labs keeping your email? I suppose in the old days it did. However now that things are much more loose and with all people having secure anonymous emails, I would say that a lab or a rep storing emails would not be considered an info collector. If that were the case we would have to paint almost every lab out there that provides lists or sale notices to its customers. I can say that at least 6 or more labs, big well know and established labs send me an email at least once a month with a list and/or sale items. This is especially import to note because it seems that people are selectively branding some with info collector, when they aren’t really collecting anyone’s information.
Reverse info collector - usually an end user that makes an order from a lab, receives shipping info and then doesn’t send anything. This is a long used tactic by LE to try to ascertain where sources are picking up funds. It is a major no no. If you are making an order folks, be sure because once you get that information you are committed to following through.
Shill - an accomplice of a lab who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others. Usually these guys are paid or tossed freebies for the work they do and the more forums they hit.
Troll - A person who starts quarrels or upsets members of a forum to distract or sow discord by posting inflammatory and/or off-topic messages with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses and normalizing tangential discussion, whether for the troll's own amusement or a specific gain.
Sponsored Athlete - these are usually competitors that approach a lab or have s lab approach them to see if they can work out an arrangement where the lab provides the athlete with his or her required products (say for a comp... or maybe even long term) and the athlete agrees to post up a log on his or her progress as well as promote the lab tobthr best of their ability. This benefits both the athlete and the lab.
There are others. We should probably lay those out too.... I’m just need a break from typing.... lol
Hope that helps clear some things up for those who may need it....and helps you ensure that if you’re going to use these terms, you use them properly.
