GSP Vs Hendrick's - this is why I stopped watching UFC

Hendricks totally beat the living shit out of George Saint Pierre and GSP won the fight then retired hisfor the first time. Look at GSP's face ... it is bleeding and and he is totally damaged ...Hendricks does not have a mark on him. How the fuck could GSP have won. Favoritism, Dana influence ... down right influenced judging. This was the day I started watching Glory kick boxing and Thai boxing. Not interested what Dana and the UFC are producing. Look at the Ronda Rousey fiasco. Dana dropped her like a hot potato when Holly Holm easily knocked her out. They have brought that piece of shit Jon Jones back how many times with all the charges and bans he has had. It's not about the truth anymore ...it's all about the money. Take a look at the GSP Hendrick's fight ... based on damage and that is what fighting is about ... who won ... no question at all who should have won. Boooooo Dana

Haha I agree on the damage just funny cause that fight is years ago . But I disagree on damage rationale. . It’s judged by points and GSP had more on points. I agree with the decision. If damage won the fight then for sure Hendricks but it’s mixed martial arts and it’s on points

The UFC is lame. It was good at one point in time but, there's far more exciting fight organizations to watch.

Gsp face had lost of scar tissue, old fighter face swell up.
I watched the fight many time, it was 3 rounds gsp.
Hendricks feel from heaven so fast, and his muscles look so different after his steroid usage.
Hendricks got his ass beat up by Costa.

Hendricks was a pretty good fighter on gear.

Fun fact...given current Usada guidelines if a fighter was using bio identical compounded test they could use about 300 mg per week without being outside guidelines.

That is why very few get busted for test and the ones that do (Hendricks) are complete morons.

I will try to dig it up but I recently read a study on this. It was a small sample like 20 men but they were administering x amount per body weight and the conclusion was that they could use up to about 300mg and be within guidelines. Which was for most super physiological.

Guys who cry fowl the loudest are the ones who are most likely using PEDs and ol' Hendricks cried pretty loud. It was very obvious when he went off cuz he was even softer than normal and got his ass handed to him.

I stopped watching after Jones popped in Cali and they moved the venue to Vegas and left the fans out to dry for flights and accommodations. Jones being a mental midget was just the cherry on top.

I think I saw this too but I can't find it in my saved stuff. I have a faint recollection of finding it in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep but also have a faint feeling that there was some reason I dismissed it as well, hope you can find it and post it.

UFC ain’t the same. This was one of the last events I actually watched. I keep a distant eye on things but just doesn’t interest me much right now

Well if the UfC is on points then it sickens me. You don't think GSP wasn't on PED's come on. Its like when TaeKwonDo was point fighting I would not compete I only competed when we switched from ITF to the WTF and the fight ing was full contact I competed. Shocking impact and damage mattered in scoring the fight as it should. GSP normally just ran around an tapped his opponents once he was champion so he got more points... no knock outs like he use to .... boring I didn't like his fighting up until the Hendricks one. He beat the shit out of GSP ... at least he was the Crowd's champion. I guess if you don't knock them out then your in the judges hands, and your damn right Dana had the judges in his pocket. GSP brought in money he was definitely going to win if there was no knock out. Like the Holy Holm fight with Rousey... no one could contest that fight. If Holm's would not have knock out Rousey ... Dana's favorite would have won. LOL I did like it more in Pride and K-1, there it was damage and they inflicted it. A lot better fighting. I hate ground and pound, but love good Ju Jitzu if both are skilled it can be really exciting. If you want to watch good stand up fighting burmese fighting style (Lethwei)is awesome ... they just wrap their hands, elbows, knees, punches, kicks and HEAD BUTT's are allowed, very entertaining.

Lethwei is hard-core man. Love Burmese kickboxing!

Glory Kickboxing is good too, ONE fighting championship, Bellator all beat out the UFC as far as Im concerned.

Not a large sample size but very interesting...In my time with UFC atheletes drug testing was nowhere near as intense as it is now. But this study would align with some of the reports that i have been hearing lately. I had hear quotes like "as long as free test is under 1200 and you use the compounded creams" you will still pass the USADA tests.

Some kind of understanding about doping has evolved for sure.

Let them all take testosterone and other substances. We would have better more aggressive fights. Also use of substances increase recovery and endurance which allows the athlete to train harder. One thing they should do in the UFC is give the referee more leeway and rules to make the fight more intense, like in pride when a fighter was not engaging and just moving around and running away they would give them a yellow card. A yellow card which would take 10% of there purse away .. The referee should also be required to separate fighters if the ground and pound against the fence or on the ground becomes very inactive then stand them up or separate them. If they are not engaging hard enough give them warnings or tell them to fight like in Lethwei. They could also take a point away for not engaging. The reason I say this I have saw to many fighters go out and try not to lose rather than trying to win. The referee should make them engage or penalize them.

PEDs should be allowed for sure. 100%

They should allow more strikes to a downed opponent as well. Kicks and knees to the head for sure. As it sits now a ground guy who is in trouble can take a guy down and not have to really worry about taking significant damage while down. He can smother and roll around and as long as he's moving, even if he's doing nothing its good. Thats not entertaining or exciting. He would have to think twice about playing is safe if he knew he could get his head taken off down there too.

I see no different in taking a knee or a kick to the head whether a guy is standing or down. The risk of getting seriously injured is there either way.

I'm a long time Pride guy and I guess I'll always compare things to that. They had it right when it was around.

I agree with you @Novitec , whats the difference of getting a knee in the face when your standing up than when you are down... that is real fighting. Also if a person has a knee or hand on the floor you can't kick them in the face now come on. The referee's just has to be more alert as the knock outs would be fast and furious and he would have to get in and stop the fight before any more damage. The only kick on the ground I disagree with is the foot stomp to the face ... that is real dangerous in my opinion,,, I think head butts are less dangerous. I loved watching pride and K-1, so now I go on line and watch lethwei mostly and Bare Knuckle boxing. I will watch boxing if the the fighters are skilled and aggressive. I record all fights on tv, if the fighters are not skilled and aggressive I fast forward through it.

Oh man K-1 was awesome. Some big time heavy hitters in that league.

Ya, the heelstomp could be left out. I mean, you could literally kill a guy doing that. And I agree, a headbutt is far less dangerous than a heelstomp. You can't generate enough power behind a headbutt in comparison to a heelstomp.

I like the ground fighting better in pride, with no elbows theres less cuts and you cant just lay in guard and score points. You actually have to create distance and gives the bottom guy a better chance to improve position. The knees and kicks to the head is just instinct to me. Why the fuck would you lay on the ground knowing a stomp or kick to the head is coming. You get the fuck up. Your postion dictates if your protected in ufc
