Wifes diet ????

Ok guys my wife just got promoted to general manager to 2 restaurants so she travels between the 2 so she wears business suits now so wanted to lose a few pounds she's not big as it is but this diet confuses the shit out of me. It's high fat , high protein, with almost zero carb . Goes against almost everything we do but its fucking working she lost I think it was 18 pounds already. Why is this working lol when it shouldn't. Somebody please educate me .
 
thats pretty much keto or palumbo diet. Will work for almost anybody at losing weight. Ideal for a male bodybuilder? maybe not but still works.
If it starts to stall then she needs to reevaluate the fat intake.

Post her diet before and what she is eating currently and someone will probably be able to figure it out.

Generally speaking. She may have been over eating on her carbs which can contribute to all kinds of reasons why she is losing weight.

It also would appear as though she may be eating a ketosis style diet.... which is all the weight loss rage right now.

There’s many guys here that will eat keto so I’m not sure it’s exactly against what we do here.

Diet is specific to your goal at the time. Macronutrients are manipulated largely due to goals.
 
Yeah I'm not too into it I was just curious for the most part , her and her friend are doing it and are both losing, like if she has coffee it's with heavy cream and.no sweetener of any kind, or say she ate just a beef patty with blocks of cheese for lunch just stuff like that. I was just mainly curious as to how it was working. Like mine is lowfat high protien and very moderate carbs. Hers is just so different.
 
Carbs are an energy source so by depleting glycogen store (carbs) you’re body starts burning fat as it’s energy source.
 
Well I'm glad it's working for her anyway when she came home last night and undressed let's just say she didn't make it to the shower first .

Just be sure to let her know that if she’s eating this way, it may not be healthy or sustainable.

Keto diets have been largely perverted by the masses and most of them today aren’t what they first were. Evolution is usually a good thing, but in many cases people are now using it to eat poorly and still loose weight.

I don’t know what exactly she is following but I can tell you the original diets didn’t allow for things like cheese.

Also not eating enough fibre can cause major issues and is not advised. Some will supplement fibre but be sure that micronutrients aren’t being neglected either. Supplements again can be used but they never make up for real food.

It’s true that by and large the majority of people overeat carbohydrates. And when cut, folks can see drastic changes.....However omitting an entire food group for most people is largely a mistake and again not sustainable.

There’s a girl on instagram that preaches keto dieting who doesn’t have a clue what that even means. She eats takeout food 2 meals per day and there is little to any nutrient profile in what she eats.

Thousands follow her. They follow her because they’re being told what they want to hear.

It’s fucking dangerous.

Maybe leaner, but also possibly less healthy than when they were fat.

I don’t disagree with keto at all.... I do however disagree with people fad dieting and not understanding what they are potentially doing to their bodies.

Know what it is she’s doing.

Lots of people forget to calculate calories on this type of diet which is important and don't eat vegetables because they are carbs but other than a few that come to mind I don't count them in carb intake.
 
also let he know that if she starts to say fuck it and start slamming back muffins, shes going to put on so much water at lightning speed.

Yeah I thought that too when carbs are reincorporated you would gain it back.
 
Carb cycling works but it doesn’t have the rapid weight loss, but as many have said keto is not sustainable over the long haul.
 
obesity is more a hormonal problem, not a calorie problem. calories are units of heat. animals dont burn their food. the metabolic process is complicated and manifold. its nothing like putting fuel into your truck and burning it. i hate to be the guy who has to always post YT vids, but i am.
